Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

They could offer half the salary and still be competitive so idk why they are paying the value in the Aussie player market, so dumb
I believe they have to pay what the player would be reasonably valued at, the tax free stuff is an incentive for the player to sign and accept the risk of playing in PNG. They had to pay Luai at least what he was on with us as he had a contract for the next 3 years at that value. So the reality is they cant sign players for unders if they are at a certain value in the wider NRL market just because they get more from the tax free set up. I heard they are paying Lomax 700 - 800k you could argue that would be his value based on the fact he is an origin and Kangaroos player and probably one of the top 4 wingers and top 10 centres in the game.

Interesting snippet from the latest SMH Article:

"Doueihi was upset he had been asked to move from halfback to lock forward to accommodate debutant Javon Andrews. He was also frustrated it took him several days to track down Marshall to be told about the positional switch, and Jarome Luai, who is off to the Eels next year, was not the half asked to move.

Douieihi then felt the need to tell Marshall there had been a dip in the levels of professionalism and accountability at the club, and that by taking time out from the game, his drastic action would shine a light on the bigger problems he believed were holding the club back."

This seems to line up with what we are seeing on the field. I personally believe Doueihi is completely in the wrong for not turning up for his team mates and the club. The drop off we have seen from the first 10 rounds is massive and some of the players are not putting in the effort. The drop off from some players is ridiculous.

I can imagine guys like AD and Twal who seem to be hard workers on and off the field, take care of their bodies and practice clean living would be very frustrated with some of the professionalism by some of the other players, particularly if the rumours of vaping etc are true... Doueihi thought that by walking out he was making a statement that would finally make Benji and the club listen. It was completely the wrong way to go about it, but the question needs to be asked as to why it even had to come to that for the club and Benji to take it seriously. This club needs better leadership in the football department and another voice to work with, but also be separate to Benji.

Haven’t heard any mention today of Flanno coming here in the offseason .., and some of you blokes were hot to trot on this yesterday … is this still a possibility?

Morgan smithies off to Perth. These the type of players we need. Some tough, hard nosed, no nonsense players that don’t go to water at the slightest sign of adversity.

Our resilience is so low, I swear our players fold at a slight change of wind direction
I'd be looking at the players the Raiders want to keep by moving on Smithies.

And the nrl can’t easily offload licence like that , being shit or feeding the news within player dramas does not constitute revoking a licence or giving it elsewhere

Even if the. Nrl were stupid to even attempt to do this all other clubs would vote pvl and nrl board out , as there club could easily be next

They didn’t take the eels licence away and there was shit involved in their cap scandal they brought an administrator in.
You think the licence doesn't come with any conditions?

Apparently one of ADs concerns about the club reported by Daniel Weedkiller is around players at the club vaping …

I remember last year joking here that Big Royce Hunt was supposedly a vaper …not a great look for a bloke who runs out of puff after 10 mins …

Do they need to implement a no vaping policy at the club?
Absolutely there should be a no vaping rule at the club.
It's illegal without a script and has a hugely negative impact on one's health.

If this is true and we have some vapers amongst the playing group well we truly are an amateur club, how's is breathing in that crap going to help players to defend at the highest level instead standing around leaning over gassed.

Fair dinkum, what a joke it would be, would the top clubs allow it, no.

Has to be a big possibility given the current speculation.

Managed by Moses, premiership winner so brings experience & success to the coaching ranks, Wests Magpies old boy, expressed interest already, had a Chinese lunch with Denny, Frank & Paton at Wests Ashfield yesterday.

Ok made the last point up.

It's not like you to inject humour B, outstanding, keep it up lol.

Absolutely. We must make all debenture holders lives an absolute misery. Media campaigns, banners, protests etc

Name and shame them, A Current Affair style!!
They dont care about the club, they are died in the wool magpie supporters. Hurting Wests Tigers doesnt affect them. They also love their image. Tarnish that and watch how quick they move. Remember Dennis was all good being on our board after the debacle at the end of last year he couldnt care less, wasnt until the instagram account being run by "someone else" came out that he stepped down.
