I was watching the footy one sat night and my missus come and watched with me, Brandy was on at half time and when she mentioned his ears (something id never noticed) it was like a car crash couldnt unfocus

It’s the gonna kill the game. The talent pool is stretched thin as it is. Now there is going to be an extra 90 players across 3 squads. An extra 51 players every weekend. You ever look at AFL odds? Half the games every weekend, teams are $1,10 and under. That’s going to be the NRL soon. Don’t be surprised if a team racks up 100 points in the next couple of years.

TE’O THE RABBITOH?
Ben Te’o will be interviewed by the Rabbitohs next week as Wayne Bennett ramps-up his pursuit of the former Broncos assistant.
Te’o has been linked with South Sydney and Bennett will kick-off talks with the Queensland Origin assistant in the strongest sign yet he will join forces with the super coach in 2027.
The 39-year-old has been a man in demand since his bombshell decision to quit the Broncos in March following a verbal altercation with Brisbane coach Michael Maguire.
Te’o was snapped by Maroons mentor Billy Slater for this year’s Origin series and he was interviewed by a Sydney-based rival to the Rabbitohs last week.
The dual international has also been sounded out by Australia mentor Kevin Walters, who is keen to have Te’o on deck as his defence coach for the end-of-year World Cup tournament.
Te’o, currently living in Brisbane, declined to comment specifically about the Rabbitohs but says he is open to relocating his young family if he snares a job in Sydney.
“As a young coach, you have to take opportunities when they come up,” he said.
“There’s only so many clubs in Queensland and the tough part of coaching is you have to be willing to move your family.
“I had a great Origin campaign with Queensland. I am watching a lot of games for Triple M (as a commentator) and the game is evolving all the time.
“I’m watching closely and would love to get back into the NRL.”
Bennett helped launch Te’o’s coaching career at Redcliffe and is open to having him at Souths, where Te’o won a premiership as a back-rower in 2014.
Te’o is keen to return to Camp Maroon next season, but it could depend on whether Slater coaches on with Queensland.
“I’m not sure on where I stand with Queensland,” he said.
“I signed for this year only and I really enjoyed my year there but I only signed for one year, so whether I go on next year is up in the air.
“I really enjoyed the position and would be open to doing it next year.”

They are not shedding anything, they just signed a new broadcast deal that includes incentives to get to 20 teams.....no teams are going anywhere in the short to medium term....

How do you know the Rabbitohs aren't offering an extra 20% because they can?
Agree with you and dont get me wrong im not wanting to make a hobby of death riding the club. However the current rate of expansion even at our level of observation is clearly unsustainable. Its public knowledge the grass roots clubs are folding left, right and centre combined with plummeting jr numbers. The employment pool for clubs to hire from is already shockingly shallow.
The NRL is far to large to not have contingency plans for the scenario we are looking at; of a drop in quality of its product. If we get to a stage of the 90s superleague era where teams like wests had 0% chance of beating Brisbane. The bookies will stake those games and the NRL lose millions. Again lots of ifs and emotion in my post. I just dont really see it as an impossible outcome.

It is true that some things once seen cannot be unseen. 🤣
I'll keep an eye on Brandy but like yourself, in the case of JWH I had never noticed his ears until recently and I couldn't understand how I had never noticed it before.
I also can't help but think that with that beard of his he reminds me of a teddy bear.
