Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

It's but weight he needs, it's acceleration. He's just takes way too long to build to speed. So he's essentially getting to jog through the defensive line. He needs that power and burst of speed to break tackles, he just strolls around and gets tackled. Not good enough
Good point B but still think Bula could put on some muscle, was a time when JAC was lean and then put on some bulk, it didn't slow him down and he was a stronger athlete.

Brian To’o to PNG 🤯
Gonna be a stacked team of quality , I think the decision to allow the money tax free is poor and will be a black spot on the game , we can’t even secure Sam F but PNG just sniff out who they want and pay them , they get all the money so $ 800 k in Australia probably means $ 450 net , up there it $ 800 k net , doesn’t work well

Sukkar and Roberts are both great prospects who have been introduced to the NRL.

Sukkar is a slow burn as an edge player. Im concerned he wont have the explosiveness needed in the modern game on an edge. I would be curious to try him as a mobile lock. As a youngster he quite liked using the ball. Even though he knew he could just score himself, he would always read the numbers and use the ball rather than hog it. So that tells me he has that natural mindset of team player and an in born enjoyment of setting others up. He could go alright at lock.

Our big problem is we believe in local juniors.
How arrogant do you have to be to think you can build an elite NRL team out of local kids?
Yes Penrith did it, but they already had successful systems and processes in place. Theyve played in 8 GFs in the past 35 years. 20 finals series in their 40 year history. Our club can not compete with this and attempting to emulate them is never going to work.

That run of Penrith kids was generational talent all as well. By the time they had got to first grade they had been playing together for 5-10 years in junior representative teams. It won't be like that forever for them. Thinking that we are going to have a JFH, Cleary, To'o, Edwards, Yeo, Martin et al all fall in our lap at once is insanity. That probably won't happen again at Penrith for another 25 years.

One thing im certain of, Elijah Taylor needs to be brought in on 2 fronts. Number one, his analysis and dissecting the 1% plays and the knock on effect they have if you dont do them is first class. He really breaks it down so good that even our dumb pile of you know what should be able to comprehend. He should be the clubs "effort" coach.

Secondly, he should specifically work with our middles on how to engage the line and link with the halves. Elijah was before his time in playing straight and deep into the line as a lock. Terrel would really benefit from working with him. If Terrel qantst i play big minutes, then Taylor could turn him into a lock if he got lean and fit.

Ivan getting out just at the right time. They will most likely always be strong but their domination could only last so long. Makes you wonder what Nathan's next move will be.
