WHY.
most current players signed till 2030,
WHY.
And the NRL renewal date is 2030

I see a big push by HBG in the meantime to make West Tigers look as bad as they can,
In the meantime buy out the last 10% of the Balmain shares

Other clubs are all busy setting up players for the future,
Whilst it seems we are being provided very little from HBG.

Maybe it’s time for us supporter base to really rev it up , How about we start a petition to keep wests tigers in the nrl under the licence agreement for the next 20/30/50 years , this time we hit it straight to PVL , if it gets traction in the media , pod casts etc he will act on it , we need as fans to show we care and will do what ever it takes to save our club from the dopes running it , take away their chance to destroy our club , I’m in just show me where to sign , but if we did do this it would need to be flogged at every opportunity, home games ,away games , pod casts , main stream media like Kent and co , nrl360 , the lot , the more it’s talked about the better , shut these old fools down for good

it will be interesting in 2030
NRL needs to say to HBG it is wests tigers ongoing or see you later and they divide up south wests area.
If you dont want to participate in wests tigers then hand back ownership and we will give the licence to someone else

These are the “depth” players I would be looking at. These would be guys who aren’t in our starting 13, maybe could jag a bench spot weekly, but are more for that depth of an injury. Someone who can come in for several weeks to just feel a gap.

I’m a bit more worried about the fans just ebbing away naturally , even if nothing formally is done by the owners … next year with no games at Leichhardt with the way the squad is shaping up ( pretty much the same as now looks like) is looming as very difficult

It does, big time, but did people on here think it sucked when we signed Luai, KPP, Bunty, Turuva and extended Bula?

Why couldnt we do what the Dragons have done?

Who's decision was it to spend truckloads on these 'fringe' first graders?

Extending AD and the getting the May brothers was smart, but that's it.

I wonder if Luai was involved in his recruitment? If so, and I suspect he was, it is a good reason why we got rid of him for seasons end. Cant have your captain recruiting for another club.

Probably got a lot to do with Cleary finishing up also, timing is perfect for a change and yes why not rejoin with old mate Luai.

I think most contracts go to 2030 because that is the next predicted big cap increase. Combine that with players wanting to know who is coaching them and no player we have being worthy of a massive long term deal (which usually don't work out for the club anyway) then i don't think anything you've listed is concerning.

You wonder? Luia has publicly said he is part of PNG's recruitment team. The fact the NRL are allowing this is disgraceful. There will always be players who talk to other players about switching clubs, but to actively be part of another clubs recruitment team is unbelievable.

His TPA for PNG starts next year. That alone is insane that was allowed, and probably a big reason as to why he won't be here next year.

This PNG lineup is a house of cards for mine. Big names but will they deliver?

Alex Johnston = great finisher but at 33 and with 14 years of NRL under his belt by 2028, how long will his body hold up?

Brian To’o = has played a lot of football and is already showing signs of burnout. Is expected to make big meters every game which is taking its toll on his frame. Played horrible in SOO this year and lost his position. Has a lot of footy ahead of him this year with a GF run and a WC and then next year will be emotional as an era at Penrith concludes.

Joey Manu = won’t have played Rugby League since 2024. Will those 3 and a half years have undone a lot of his gameplay and conditioning? Look at RTS, best player in the Warriors club when he left and found it very hard to readjust just 2 years later. Took quite some time to hit form again.

Zac Lomax = See Joey Manu comments and add that this bloke is a mercenary who is unlikely to commit 100% to that club/region. He’ll find bonding with his teammates difficult I’d say as he pretty much will be a FIFO worker.

Connor Waston = He is a good signing who will likely commit and give his all. He will be 32 though and with his extensive history of injuries, could spend a lot of time in a pool rather than on the training paddock.

Matty Lees = He looks to be a great prospect. I’d question how he will handle the heat though. A Pommy playing in the engine room in Port Moresby will be a tough gig.

Jarome Luai = I’m not a fan. This guy is full of hot air and is not a leader. He is also not playing well and I’m sure that will continue in 2027. They are going to get a 31 year old who hasn’t been in form for 3 + years.

Add this to the fact that they will be living in Port Moresby - an absolute toilet of an unliveable city ranked near the top of the worlds most dangerous. They will be locked behind gated walls for their security which will harm them mentally and they will travel a lot.
Money doesn’t buy happiness. They will learn this lesson very quickly.

Yeh I’ve been wondering how their team culture will develop when essentially they’re all mercenaaries.

This would be a merciful outcome. A kingdom divided against itself will always fall. If there is no unity between HBG and the Wests Tigers what’s the point of staying in the comp except to make supporters suffer? If nothing can ever be resolved, then just bring on the end. I, for one, have had enough of this shit.
