The 28-year-old has played 36 NRL games for the Dragons and Broncos and is looking to meet with Canberra bosses next week with a view to moving to the nation’s capital.
While the Broncos are moving on from Hunt, they face a major battle to keep Samoa international Mariner.
The speed demon is set to secure a new manager, he has been linked with veteran agent Sam Ayoub, and is expected to explore all options from November 1 when he becomes a free agent.
Mariner has been linked with Papua New Guinea, but it’s understood the Chiefs won’t be making a player for the premiership-winning winger or centre.
