Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

If Sam Wants 1.2 the club should make the call and either pay him or go after someone else now , we wait and we get nothing then spend stupid amounts buying 2 nd rate players to fill holes like all years before , get the deal done , the cap is going up , Luai was 1.2 million and didn’t do much , Sam Competes and does well
He won’t leave the rooothers , there just playing games

What is wrong with our districts and our development systems?

From what the CEO has been saying, our pathways will be getting extra attention, not sure of the details.

I understand this has been said many times, however this is one area were we have an advantage over many other clubs and hopefully we will use this our advantage.

This is our best chance of becoming stronger, along with a "Moneyball' approach to player purchase because we just don't have the cash of other clubs.

How many 1/2s do they need ,
Luai
Munster ( sure he will go )
So where do they fit in , Cleary or Walker

Maybe they will move Cleary to 13 like AD? lol.., I wonder if he will refuse to play ..

I see in the paper , a sports betting firm has got odds they are 15/1 to win the comp in 2028.., not bad with only 6 players signed to date …the articles didn’t mention our odds …probably a bit longer

He rarely gets in the Roosters NRL 17 that takes the field each week and with the Roosters having the emerging Blake Steep and Darcy Smith amongst others in their back row, it’s likely Egan Butcher will continue to slip down the pecking order.
Most players that are not getting much NRL game time have egos telling them they should be playing NRL much more regularly and because of this they are not going to be overly concerned about moving from a club near the top of the ladder to one near the broom, as they simply have a point to prove that they are good regular NRL players.
I am guessing he would currently be on a contract of around 350k so an offer of around 400k should be enough to secure him and if he plays to his potential as a 13 on a regular basis that would be good value.
Great theory. When have we succeeded with that approach?

How pathetic shutting down the worst ceo, coach and club chat, where he has the hide to tell the fans to back the club. #pathetic worst club in Australian sport. Douhei is a cat who “sets” standards but doesn’t chase. A bloke gets payed 1.2 million but can not set up any tries, the coach and ceo are frauds

Its great to hear Shaun say hes going all out to fix the junior pathways and sort out our priduction line of talent. Unless he starts doing something with the first grade team at the same time hes wasting his time. Time and time again we have unearthed good young players, who went else where, for various reasons. If we dont fix whatever it is at the club thats toxic, all we will be doing is finding good young players for other teams.

Oh no, it’s going to struggle next year, that’s been evident for a while.

Not sure what he can do apart from some more support for Benji.

The focus on pathways will hopefully fix the ongoing saga of losing young talent to other teams.

Name one CEO that hasn't planned to fix junior pathways .....yet it remains a mess

When they sacked Richo it was like driving the Titanic directly into the iceberg.

The club was broken right then but the board gave benji a 5 yr extension, put in place a new CEO and convinced the 3 directors to come back … but they retained control and did enormous damage to the club

Like the titanic - they were like “nothing to see here” and we’ve been on the deck not knowing that the club is broken like idiots.

Well now the ship is sinking.

After crashing the boat and making Rico leave - our perception in the market place was ruined

We then gave benji a 5 yr 1million dollar deal to try and repair it … now he has all the power and players only want to stay for him so the club is out of balance

This image damage to the club meant we had to over pay for players

Luai left as well

And shaun is the interim CEO bc hbg didn’t want to put in anyone who would challenge them

Trust me

It took the titanic 2.5 hrs to sink

It’s taken us 25 rounds

Hbg screwed this club when it sacked Richo and basically crashed us into the ice berg

Earlier in the year things looked good then slowly they started to unravel

Now we’re seeing the ship crack in two
