Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

There would be no justification signing a 34 and 35 year old. One would be bad enough, let alone both. It tells you the club see next season as yet another rebuilding/transitional season. After 15 years of no finals, thats unacceptable.

If we're going to rebuild ...again, let our young crop go through the paces, take the occasional spanking, and allow them to grow and develop.

One thing that is absolutely apparent this year is that the game has revved up in speed by at least 30%. It's no longer an old mans game.

Madden will start to command decent money when he goes to market and Benji is trying to ensure we have depth, without paying the world for it.

I'd prefer Madden far more than SOS. We all would. The question is what the respective price is for either.

That sounds like a 2028 problem though …he is a reserve half .,, if Madden gets more money than what we want to pay, than find someone else …

A halfback with no kicking game will ever command decent money.

I disagree. Good roster management needs a spread of ages. We need players who only have 1-2 years left so we have roster spots for those progressing in 1-2 years.

To me, our club needs every bit of experience & leadership we can get even in depth positions so we are better equipped to deal with periods of adversity. We have Api, Twal, Bunty, Royce, AD, Herbert & Terrell, but 1 or 2 more would certainly help especially losing Luai and to a degree To'a.

As long as they are attained without spending overs, a Frizell & Mann would be huge for the group. Some say Scott Sattler & Michael Buettner were valuable members of the club in 2004 and contributed to the young guys coming through for 2005.
