Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Dearden would be great, but we don’t have a spare 1.5 million per season to get him,
Some people are suggesting it’s ok to have props or defensive minded players playing 13 for the full 80mins each week.
I’m sure these same people must have missed watching how boring and poor our attack was for a good portion of the 2026 season,
We stopped scoring points when we started losing the ruck ,lost our back rowers and Taylan May
We started losing games when our defence went pear shaped
And if you play Doueihi at lock you will have the worst 13 in the comp
Why not go and sign a quality lock WHO CAN TACKLE and be more creative
By the way when Twal was allowed to be creative , he was
But I don't think Twal is quick enough to put a defence in two minds

I agree that IF we could sign or find a lock who can tackle, be more creative and put a defence in two minds, that would be fantastic and would transform our team for the better.
There is simply nobody that fits this description available anytime soon and even a remote possibility of joining us.

But the problem is you want to make the worst possible lock option in the NRL the 13

I'd prefer to stick with Twal and improve the players around our halves

Let Doueihi go. He's been tried at various positions without making a total success at any. Yet he had the gall to insist on playing 7 and refusing to play where the coach wanted him.

Benji should have had the guts to keep insisting Doueihi try 13, especially with Twal out. Or better, get the backing to tell Doueihi to look for another club.

But being Benji, he'll probably let Doueihi stay at 7 next year.

Benji made a rod for his own back there declaring him the 7 even before the season started, another rookie mistake from him imo.
