Unlike people pipedreaming about paying Dearden $1.5 m …I can see the tigers being much more likely to bring Latrell here on $1.1m a year to play a dozen games a year at Center ..it’s kinda a move they would make

Yeah … Krawley is a hater (another one in the media lol) … but it’s hard to argue his point - the Tigers pay overs to get good players to come and stay here

It won’t be for 2027.. we got no money for that signing ..most likely in 2028 when he is off contract …

Didn’t they go after Latrell super hard the last time … and there was a lot of speculation he was going to actually come here ? I’m sure they will tell us what a good mentor he will be for the young guys like Makasini

Yeah thats exactly what im thinking. I know many will jump on me for the idea, but they need to take into account the cost. Luke Brooks for 350k is a good signing. We know hes tough, hes experienced. Plays 14 and if we get riddled with injuries he is a bloody good 3rd or 4th half option. I would like to see him in Tigers colours in a role that has no pressure from his price tag or wearing the 7. He can definitely contribute on a weekly basis. Id rather him over Kurt Mann

Brooks played so much better at 5/8 , and the one thing brooks brings is he is a very good defender

I would like to think that Taylan May and Heamasi Makasini will both be better players than Latrell by the time the 2028 season rolls around.

There are not many of these type of players around and the ones that are around are not available.
We also need a genuine 13 in my opinion, but again they are as rare as hens teeth and none available.
When talking about a hard nosed enforcer style of prop who could available, I’d say the Knights will be needing to shuffle the deck chairs to retain Bradman Best and keep their salary cap in order, so I’m thinking Jacob Saifiti might be available for 2027, even though he is not off contract until 2028.
His contract is supposedly 700k per season which is probably about right for a player of his ability, but factoring in his occasional brain snap and suspension issues.
Obviously Frizell was a similar, but older and cheaper option. It appears he is very unlikely to leave Newcastle, so we will likely need to look for an alternate option.

Jackson Ford would be perfect. I've wanted him here for years, but with Barnett leaving they will probably hold onto him.

I’m glad you have finally seen the light and recognise we need another middle
