Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Roosters find a way because they are an astute club with quality business connections. This means 3rd party contracsts and life after football..

We have HBG. What is their business network like? I honestly dont know. But if the way they do business is any indicator, their business relationships are probably dog shit.

Herbie could go to the roosters for less money, but because the business relationships are fans of the club, he'd walk into a job the moment he stops playing football. What does this club offer?
..we mite be able to offer a roadie gig in the ex chairmans band....but it really shows what were up against
Im increasingly in favor of privatisation tbh..to someone who ujnderstands the game and is prepared to invest short term for long term gains
If we fail next year, pressure mounts on not just Benji but HBG as well

Not now he wouldn’t.
If we offered him over 1 million dollars 2-3 years back when he was earning around 600k it could have been a very different story.
That ship has sailed..for WTs anyway.Uncle Nick has him earmarked to replace Teddy, and got a feeling Herbie will (cough)enjoy the Bondi lifestyle!
And Nicks paper bags...

Ever heard of proof checking, double check, measure twice cut once, or quality assurance?
I thought the same thing At first meh, these things happen, and being dyslexic and terrible with punctuation I don’t even get it.
But what I do get is professionalism, surely there is someone in charge of ensuring the company name is spelt correctly on the big sign out the front of the yearly company awards night.
Anyway we still have bigger problems.
did the tigers even know there was going to be a sign?
they booked a venue to hold their end of seasons awards. Doltone house has then put out a sign and misspelt it. Is that the responsibilty of the club?
rather the club concentrates on fixing the football side then worrying about the decorations that Doltone House has.

Bringing young kids into a Penrith team is a lot different to bringing a kid into a Weststigers team. They come into a very strong team, surrounded by seasoned quality players who look after the rookie.

With our team you’re likely to debut after the team has been smashed the week before and morale is on the floor. We bring up so many kids through desperation and it’s sink

Penrith players are among the best Leaders in the comp, ours a lapping concord ratting on the coaches to journos cos they don’t get to do whatever they like.

I’m guessing Manly are among quite a few clubs trying to free up salary cap space to make a real play at some of the many big name players currently available for 2028 and beyond.
It will be like a feeding frenzy for the likes of Nathan Cleary, Isaiah Yeo, Liam Martin, Moses Leota, Hudson Young, Tom Dearden, Sam Walker, Herbie Farnworth, Xavier Willison, Hamiso Tania-Fidow just to name a few.
You would imagine Samuela and Latu Fainu will also be in high demand as will Fonua Pole.
Most clubs understand you need a genuine superstar to be a realistic chance of winning a premiership, there I’d say a few clubs will be happy to sacrifice the 2027 season if they can land a big fish or 2 for 2028 and beyond.
Weve been doing that for a decade!!

Who cares.
Far bigger problems at this place than a sign at an awards night

Yeah thats exactly what im thinking. I know many will jump on me for the idea, but they need to take into account the cost. Luke Brooks for 350k is a good signing. We know hes tough, hes experienced. Plays 14 and if we get riddled with injuries he is a bloody good 3rd or 4th half option. I would like to see him in Tigers colours in a role that has no pressure from his price tag or wearing the 7. He can definitely contribute on a weekly basis. Id rather him over Kurt Mann
My less than perfect recall is that we low balled Brooks on $550k and Manly offered $750k...he was coming off a backloaded $1mill
If true ,will be hard to get on "Aldi prices.."at $350
Hes been their most consistent player this year in the eyes of their supporters, which shows how poorly we managed him trying to convert him into a 7.Sheenius
But hes 32 next year, coming off a major injury, but the real issue is he doesnt offer any smarts or leadership which we desperately need more than anything else
So its a NO from me

I actually thought the same.thing...it happens in all games unless the half is defendingn on the wing
Or - it’s not a shit team that defends for most of the game.
in the Panthers game early this year - Cleary made 10 tackles.
He almost kicked more goals than tackles made.

Interestingly, Madden made 20 (missed 5)
Luai made 12 (missed 5)
Wonder why they put 70 on us

Wouldn't you expect a draft to be sent to the Tigers for their approval ??

I find that really hard to understand, if true.

AD might be leaving but still, we have enough potential to have a decent halves pairing.

The only other thing is, he might be a gun.
Makes sense cus Luai is leaving and we need a replacement in terms of the amount of halves, probably just depth but if my dreams come true it’s dearden
