While that may have been somewhat correct in the past, that Benji and Richo managed recruitment with Gallant largely doing juniors, this current setup does not work. Benji should be consulted with first grades recruits of course, but should have practically nothing to do with recruitment across all other grades. We need to hire a scout like PoS and let him manage recruitment. Gallant can stay as our head of South West recruitment. Richards can stay as a junior coach.

Benji has been spread far too thin. He thinks he can manage every aspect of the team and he doesn't trust anyone else to do anything for him. Hence he's surrounded by mates and yes men.

That can no longer be tolerated. If Benji is to remain as head coach he needs to be freed of all other duties, Focus on first grade coaching, and just consulted on other things as necessary. Hiring competent staff that he can comfortably delegate control to.

If he's unwilling or incapable of doing this then he can resign.

I think all Wests Tigers supporters who take any interest in our recruitment and retention from pathways up agree that a good experienced recruitment manager would appear to be something that would benefit us, but we did have Scott Fulton who had extensive experience in that role and he was sacked by Richo due to what was reported as disagreements with Benji.
As you are alluding to, surely it’s a good thing for the Coach, Head of Recruitment , Salary Cap manager and Head of Football/CEO to have robust discussions surrounding recruitment and retention.
It seems the plan is for Shannon Gallant who is now very experienced himself, to become our own version of Peter O’Sullivan with the assistance of Brad Speechley within the Wests, MacArthur, Southern Highlands space and Bronson Harrison within the Balmain district and surrounds.
This should ideally free up Shannon Gallant to cast the net far and wide looking at other players to complement what we have in our own backyard.

I don’t know if you are right or wrong with that comment, but wondering how you come to that conclusion?
Do you have first hand knowledge of the situation or just an assumption from the outside looking in?
We have a high number of supporters who do make plenty of assumptions from the outside looking in, without have any real knowledge of the issues they are talking about.
