Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Might be currently with a team playing in the GF

Geez, I wish. Sandon Smith would have been awesome. Surplus to Knights needs but they have him locked up long term on a steal.

Only way I see them letting him go is if it is some kind of incentive to keep a junior in Hunt but he is also locked in til end of 28'

Man they would be kicking themselves with the Brown signing now. Not because of his talent, but because of the fact they have him on such big money when they could have got the job done for less than a mil amongst their two starters

@KevB and @bptiger 0 Whilst I understand your points, what other option did we have?

If Latu plays in the halves next year we are screwed. Across his 35 games he has not kicked once.

It's time a lot of Tigers fans, especially on this forum take a deep breath, and look at our predicament this year and next year with a clear lens.
Mate have another read. The very link you shared shows he has kicked plenty, just not this year.
Averaged about 100 kick metres a game last year. Sure that's not much but like this year he had limited time in the halves so was rarely in a kicking position so the per game average would be very skewed. However, he has kicked the few times that his role required it.

I think all Wests Tigers supporters who take any interest in our recruitment and retention from pathways up agree that a good experienced recruitment manager would appear to be something that would benefit us, but we did have Scott Fulton who had extensive experience in that role and he was sacked by Richo due to what was reported as disagreements with Benji.
As you are alluding to, surely it’s a good thing for the Coach, Head of Recruitment , Salary Cap manager and Head of Football/CEO to have robust discussions surrounding recruitment and retention.
It seems the plan is for Shannon Gallant who is now very experienced himself, to become our own version of Peter O’Sullivan with the assistance of Brad Speechley within the Wests, MacArthur, Southern Highlands space and Bronson Harrison within the Balmain district and surrounds.
This should ideally free up Shannon Gallant to cast the net far and wide looking at other players to complement what we have in our own backyard.
Our club cannot afford to have a rookie as head of recruitment. What pull or connections does he have? What proven successes does he have?

Throwing him into that position, or Richards into the GM football roles is like throwing young Haywood as our starting hooker next year and expecting him to play 80 mins every week.

We literally need to throw the chequebook at PoS, look at what he's done at Newcastle. And other clubs. Fulton had more ego, others just do their jobs
