Any player earning over million plus can only only give that sort of value if the are surrounded by players that are quality. At some point clubs have to cut them off if they get too greedy or the other alternative is to scrap the salary cap.

Their disappointment will be in Sam and his manager dragging this out, not at losing him.

They have Toby Rodwell, and then Carter Mareko a couple of years behind him. Both gun halfbacks of their age groups. They’ve brought in Toia, Foketi, Wong, Savala, etc, recently and they have many more in their stable. Bassingthwaite will take over from Teddy when he retires.

Too many focus on the big signing they bring in, when the overwhelming bulk of their team is built and debut from within. Sam Walker was on of them.

They have already upped their offer once , and still can’t get him …

This must seem a new experience to them … having a player not just jumping to sign with them …

I wonder if there is a chance Walker is waiting to see if Ipswich is coming into the League in 2029? Apparently it will be announced by XMas

They missed out on Fifita recently too, didn't they? It only meant they had to bring Foketi through a a bit sooner. They'll be fine. They run their ship well, and have contingencies in place like great successful organisations always do. The fact they can walk away from the table like they have demonstrates this.

There was a rumour circulating a while ago that Robinson wanted to go back and coach in France. As for the Cleary’s, idk. Ivan doesn’t have anything left to prove, and I’m pretty sure he’s taking a role in the background at the Panthers.
