Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

He's overrated tbh. If he can't get a look in at the Warriors you have to ask questions. He's being kept on the wing in NSW cup for crying out loud. Nicoll-Klokstad, Hingano and Lino are ahead of him in the pecking order there. Flashy, can score a try, but has lots of flaws. Funnily enough all three of the other guys mentioned are off contract.

Finally someone in my corner (opposing Lolohea). 100% correct, hed be a superstar at backyard footy but not much else. Doeant have a rugby league brain, thinks its his duty to score on every play. He doesnt offer anything that will improve us and i hope he isnt a marquee sogning.

Lino would be no good either, he has already fulfilled his potential and its nothing more than average. He doesnt look like theres any room for improvement and has zero creativity, if your in a tight spot with 10 to go (eg bulldogs game last night) he wont get us out.

Hingano is good, but hes just a boy. He had a minor argument with his mrs (a cop), threw his toys and was caught (and charged) drink driving away. Hes only young but does not handle the nrl lifestyle well. Hes another 'youngster with potential' and weve just lost a bunch of them.

There is a lot of nz talent in the NRL, the warriors do not contribute much to that, most at penrith.

In NZ as a junior you strive to be noticed by an aussie club, recognition from the warriors (at jnr level) is not considered a huge deal, those who come through the warriors junior system (lino, hingano) dont develop as they would elsewhere, usually come into NRL prematurely and fizzle, the best kiwis are shipped overseas around 15 years old

Interesting.

Joe tapine and danny levi were both pretty good players all through juniors (under 14s to under 19s) but were never amazing, you wouldnt have looked at either of them and thought theyd play nrl. Warriors didnt want a bar of either of them, newcastle signs both, developes them and now theyre both flourishing.

Mason lino came throigh warriors system around the same time and isnt half the player they are.

I would be very weary signing a player over 18 that has played theiir entire career in NZ

People at Dragons forum seem to think that Packer is about to sign an extension on Wednesday with the Dragons.

Pity was hoping we would get a big bruiser to help Matulino.

Still reckon we need 2 more props.

I know that he isnt the most favoured player around at the moment…but we need to nail a big name straight away to silence the critics and show other players we are a viable option
I think if we offered him a permanent centre spot we would have a chance

He wants Fullback not Centre
Yes I agree though as he would be a great signing

I thought his issue at the dragons were that he wanted to play centre but management wanted him at fullback….i could be wrong

I thought it was wanted Fullback but they management wanted him Centre.. I could be wrong also :crazy

No Doust wanted to pay him as a centre but probably play him at fullback. He is a fine fullback at club level and as Johns said would be picked at right centre for SOO.

He wants to play fullback because he would be paid more money as a fullback, and he would not have to defend in the centres. He's a cat. Don't want him.
