Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

makingthenut.com says Tariq Sims linked with Tigers. First I've heard of it. The website and author have rumours every week, not necessarily on the money, but thought I'd add it here.

That was mentioned on League Unlimited last week as well. Makes no sense as he's contracted to the end of 2019 and they shouldn't be under cap pressure after missing out on Dugan. Probably just made up.

Milne, Fonua & McIllwrick all signed. Announced this week.

Any news on Rona?

The ARU is having a extraordinary general meeting on the 21 June to decide which franchise will be dissolved. If it is the Western Force then we will probably know soon after that date. Nothing beforehand.

SG already gave us the lowdown on Rona.

I'm trying to verify the info

You do realise that most of the info on here is not able to be verified?

Reading the last few pages certainly could lead to a lot of false hope,it seems many are pulling rabbits out of there hats when stating players are going to sign!
There seems to be a lot of signings but I have heard nothing from the club…I suppose when your club is in the cellar any hope will do.

Too much smoke around for there not to be a few fires burning.

wouldnt it be hilarious Klemmer left his bash buddy in the lurch

Klemmer would not be a good buy. I don't believe he would be worth the asking price and am not that impressed with his play. Matulino and Packer represent far better value.

Matulino/Packer/Klemmer will give us grunt and aggression. Big meter eaters. Fast play the balls. Best forward pack we would have ever had.

8\. Ben Matulino
9\. Jacob Liddle
10\. Russell Packer
11\. Chris McQueen
12\. Esan Marsters
13\. David Klemmer

This pack could compete I think. Interchange sue, josh, grant? Felise. Klezmer im not sold on, I would like to see josh A groomed as our long term 13, playing long minutes.

Et defensively looks good in a pack allergic to tackling. But he doesn't hurt anyone and lacks the running punch of a modern day 13\. His involvement in attack looks tortured, and needs to be faster, more direct off quick play the balls with our halves running into gaps. Not playing way before the line to our halves who then just pass it anyway.

I think this is a little harsh. I think ET has a decent attacking game but he isn't a metre eater. His hit-ups though aren't terrible but he really needs to run after a bust or quick play the ball and in our team we rarely get that.

His passing game is good. I think he is better in the middle but we really need a dominant pack and at this point we don't have a player who is going to have a big impact in the forwards. We need someone like Taupau, Hess, Fifita or Taumalolo (can you imagine having this guy here). I can't see us getting a player like that though so for the good of the team I think we need to play 3 big middle forwards and ET can move to the edge.

Agreed. I think Josh Aloaia could be a long term solution to our lock problem if he undergoes a training regime that gets him fitter and slimmed down. He can tackle, can make good post contact metres and hes more mobile than your average prop. Josh, mckillrick, packer and matulino is a strong defensive team that will make alot of running metres as well.

I haven't been able to get secondary confirmation from within the club but I'll back my external source on Rona. He's adamant Rona is a done deal to tigers if force fold. Which looks to be the case.

So would the club wait around a few weeks to see whether thats the case or not? We could miss out on other targets doing so,surely within the ranks of the Force they must have an inkling you would have thought.

Matt M
Liddle
