Go check the Chookpen. There is hope of picking up a minor bargain buy in Cohen Hess.

Also a thread on needing outside backs. One statement about WTs having great depth in Nofo, Milne and Fonua. Perhaps also hoping to pick up a bargain buy leaving a million or two in the salary cap.

Minor bargain buy in Cohen Hess? Yeah fair enough, roosters are probably looking at Cameron Smith and Thurston as back up

It was an April Fools joke.

I don’t think the roosters getting Coen Hess is that unrealistic

I think our best decisions were made for us by Woods, Tedesco and Moses. Johns and perhaps others thought the splitting of Moses and Brooks would take the Moses' career to a much higher level. Funny how things work out and I don't believe it is any coincidence Brooks' play has improved with Marshall back beside him. In fact, I don't believe it is any coincidence Marshall is back besides Brooks. Cleary is a fine coach.

PS. Do you believe Moses' extroverted personality would allow him to play second fiddle to Marshall?

They need a tougher captain. Tim Mannah is a nice bloke and has been playing well for them but they need a hard head to knock blokes like Moses into line. Beau Scott a few years ago would have been the man to do it but he wouldn't get enough respect from them now with his form the way it is. Brad Arthur needs to start taking personalities into account with his signings and bring some professionals in.

Na

Just let BA continue on the path he is on

I hate parra

News.com has Robbie Farah to the Raiders …Sezer to the Dogs and Tolman to the Sharks...

http://www.news.com.au/sport/nrl/robbie-farah-in-blockbuster-fourway-trade-plan-report/news-story/f8efd618e1aba94232ce9700f43b7c38

ByronBayFan loves the green….he will be elated!

Ah, so with Gallen and Lewis nearing Retirement age Tolman will be their guy in front. Surprised Canterbury would let him go, must be under HUGE cap pressure.
Also surprised that Sezer would be wanted that badly in halves. Dean Pay must know him. Although no surprise that Ricky has pissed off a halfback!

Were lucky to have the half depth we do. If Canterbury were willing to punt Tolman for Sezer then they are pretty desperate. I thought we jumped early. Missing out on Cronk and Pearce, but clearly Canterbury are in a worse situation.

Ok so who do the Rabbits get from the Sharks? Holmes?

Personally if I am looking for players to sign for next year then Josh Mansour is number 1 on the list - MWZ is a solid player but isn't in the same league as Mansour and also a left centre in place of Kev whihc are in shorter supply but mayby Blake Ferguson if he agrees to stay off the drink for the length of his contract

Yeah I don't like them either and they'll probably turn around and buy another goose like Josh Papalii. They'd have to pay a premium for him because playing for Parra means he won't have a chance to run at Mitch Moses, so there go half his tries for the season.

Papali has already back flipped on Parra, don't think they would try again.

We have Great depth. Feels a lot like 2004.

Front Row: Packer, Matulino, Twal, Eiso.
Off contract Sue, Grant, Felise, Mikalele.
Back Row: Lawrence, ET, Rochow, MCK, Aloai, McQueen, Garner.
Halves: Brooks, Reynolds, Gamble, Drinkwater
Off Contract: Marshall
Centres: Tali, Milne
Off Contract: Marsters, Kev
Wing: Thompson, Nofa, Fonua,
Off contract: MWZ
Fullback: Tui / Thompson

I would look to sign Marsters, MWZ, Mikalele, Felise. Release Grant, Sue, Kev. I also think Marshall will retrire at seasons end.

If we are reportedly circa 1.00m under the cap + Sironens contract of circa 400k also coming off the books, 4 players not signed would have to add up to close to 900k. That should leave the Tigers 2.3m to spend in 2019.

We could fit in some players of the caliber of Eathan Lowe, Papalli, Mansour, Cleary Jr and others. It’s early days but Cleary has set a good foundation.

I’d love the kid isaako from the broncos. He’s off contract and apparently two Sydney teams have offered him a contract. I hope it’s us. Can kick to as we saw last weekend …..

Yeah he goes well at fullback too, he'd be a very handy pickup as a goal kicking back.

He was at Cronulla and when he was 16 was traning with the NRL squad the Broncos offed him 120K Cronulla did not match the offer so he went to Brisbane

He is planned successor for Darius

Do we need a centre ?? … Michael Jennings is not happy as slimy eel and could be a free agent for 2019\. He has til mid-season to trigger the option to stay with Parra, but it’s understood his manager has been exploring the market regardless. Jennings now 29 years young, is believed to valued around the $700K mark. What do we think, worth a shot or not ??

At $700k plus its a terrible idea. Would take him for max $550k I reckon - bit of X-factor. He hasn't been setting the game on fire recently however….

Wouldn't touch him for half of 700k.

Agree

I think his form has dropped dramatically over the last few years

Seems to have little impact these days

Even though he cops it on this forum i would rather keep Kev as he is all heart and passion

I expect us to be competitive, but better than another 8 sides to make the finals? mmm…. not so much.

Well it is looking a lot better than it did 4 weeks ago. If you subscribe to the 50% plus 1 to scrape into the 8 Wests are now already in a position where they only have to win 10 of their remaining 21 games to make the finals.

Now add in that we have played 3 teams expected finish well in front of us at the end of the season and things look even more rosy.

Agree - maybe he could pay us.

He is a bludger - not very often do you see him go in and take a few hard yards.

Beau Scott personality in comparison makes both Paul Gallen and Braith Anasta look positively likeable.
