I say, go for it. He wouldn't cost much and we need to explore all options with so few young centres available.

According to Wigan website Gildart is 180 cms and 82kgs…....aint gonna make it against the big centres in NRL
I guess that Euan Aitken at 182 and 93 kg would also find it hard.
Extra 11kgs makes a big difference , your talking over 10% extra weight
I've never seen Gildart , but as someone else said , been a long time since an ESL back has looked even remotely good an a consistent basis
Widdup is the last one that stands out

And he's basically a Storm junior.
@ said:@ said:Gildart is very good young center who would improve out of sight in the NRL. He is deceptively strong and very quick….would not take him much on salary to come over as he would only be on about £50k max in the Super League.

I can’t believe anyone would see Ross as an upgrade…. our wingers aren’t champions, but they’re doing their jobs.
Ross is an average player at best.
I'm with you. I can't even see why its a discussion point.

Do we really need a "depth" back center. Really?
I'm happy if we create competition with Kevie and Marsters, but I don't see this guy doing it.
That being said it seems like Cleary likes gutsy centers. Maybe there was talk of Marsters walking. Now that he is signed we might loose interest in Ross.
I would rather blood gamble or someone else. Then again Cleary likes competition in his sides and he seems to want strong centers for defensive reasons. Maybe Ross fits his mould, but I would not open the bank account for him.
Wondering though if many Newcastle players are thinking of leaving since the Easts came in? Not saying we should take them but it's a question.
@ said:What about Aaron Grey? Played wing mainly at souths but also played Centre often. Hes doing nothing at the sharks.
@ said:I’ve asked this before but no one seemed interested… what are your thoughts on faitala mariner from the dogs?

@ said:@ said:Where is the signing was coming that ink was telling us about
I believe it was entirely a sarcastic comment and not a real signing.
@ said:Speaking of the game changer, I would probably welcome barba now given Tui isn't working out. Pay him what he is worth, but on a strict one strike policy.
@ said:Ken Maumalo? He could be our future right winger to replace Noffa. He can still attack and can actually defend. I reckon that If we do sign him our future back 5 could be.
1\. Thompson
2\. Maumalo
3\. Marsters
4\. Fonua
5\. MWZ (or possibly even Tui but I doubt it)
Or we could move Maumalo to the left wing and Tui could go to the right.
