Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

i wouldnt mind offering Young Tonumaipea or Kirosome Auva'a contracts, both are not seeing regular first grade,Tonumaipea has been in the storm system for quite a while and is solid in attack and defence, but has chambers and scott ahead of him atm, while Auva'a is strong, runs hard at the line and would be a good addition as well. Both are centres but can play on the wing also.

really getting sick of the club releasing players, and i know we had to in the two centres, but drinkwater he was playing so well and was a great back up. so we release these players get we get no one in, we will run out of players at this rate.

Drinkwater was outside the top 30 and wouldn’t have be eligible for top grade unless we upgraded his contract.

At the moment, I'm happy to trust in IC's player retention and release policy.

The club secured a first right of refusal at the end of this season, so I am sure it was a case of doing the right thing by Drinkwater - that's part of being a great club to play for as well.

It may be time for the club to seriously look at filling couple of vacant spots particularly if we have another loss this week.

Our depth is slowly being tested and it will only get worse as this season rolls on.

Are not the Wests Tigers obliged by the NRL to fill these vacant spots by 1st June this year?

we must be front loading a lot of contracts this year- this squat is no where close to $9M i'd say

OK, so someone explain to me what happens if a player leaves after a front loaded contract?

Does that mean they can say "well tigers front loaded me with 500K this season. Next season is 80K…. But Panthers will offer me 300K if I sign now for next season?"

We all know contracts can be broken. Just hoping front loaded players will show some loyalty.

You wouldn't release them. A player needs a release to sign a new contract.

At the roosters game and the rioters fans are talking Tedesco wants out life's a beach

What grounds are they basing this off?
If it’s true though.. not surprised in the slightest. Shine’s worn off

Life as a capon eh?

Haha. Had to google that.

capon/ˈkeɪp(ə)n/
noun

a castrated domestic cock fattened for eating

A bit like that i guess it must be hard for him not being the star of the team

Ivan should offer him a 3 year contract at 650K ayear with the promise to make him a better team player

Didn’t Auva'a beat his girlfriend….... I’d say he doesn’t fit the culture

Teddy has been their best the last 2 weeks

Jamayne Isaako, He's off contract at the end of this season. He's only 21 and people are calling him a "young Israel Folau". He could be what we need, a young, fast, strong winger who uses his powerful quads to win contested catches. I doubt that the Broncos will let him go but Ivan could probably get him if he really wanted him.

Would be a great signing but like you said Brisbane will want to keep him. I did read awhile back that he mainly played fullback until he played for the Broncos so maybe that might be enough to get him out of Brisbane.

And we know Thompson can play fullback or wing.
