Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Jamayne Isaako, He's off contract at the end of this season. He's only 21 and people are calling him a "young Israel Folau". He could be what we need, a young, fast, strong winger who uses his powerful quads to win contested catches. I doubt that the Broncos will let him go but Ivan could probably get him if he really wanted him.

Would be a great signing but like you said Brisbane will want to keep him. I did read awhile back that he mainly played fullback until he played for the Broncos so maybe that might be enough to get him out of Brisbane.

And we know Thompson can play fullback or wing.

That actually works out perfect. If we play Isaako at fullback, Thompson can move to Noffo's wing and Thompson can defend well on the wing and was scoring more tries on the wing then Noffo.

I've watched him a few times and I can't in all honesty describe him as fast. He looked pretty pedestrian agains the Storm albeit he was up against JAC and Scott. Scott is not overly quick and Isaako didn't compare well to him.

i wouldnt mind offering Young Tonumaipea or Kirosome Auva'a contracts, both are not seeing regular first grade,Tonumaipea has been in the storm system for quite a while and is solid in attack and defence, but has chambers and scott ahead of him atm, while Auva'a is strong, runs hard at the line and would be a good addition as well. Both are centres but can play on the wing also.

BOTH of these players should be targeted along with JAC.
Young/JAC it should e high money but short term contracts. They have the speed but we don't know if that will go with injuries.
Auva would be a huge buy…..

Were talking big money though. nothing under 400/450\. Almost wonder if Mansour is worth it. He can do that good wing defense stuff and if he partners with Marsters then we have a solid flank.

If we are going to win games on defense, we can't have a winger who is a bad defender. A fence with a hole is just a decoration.

JAC is contracted to the storm til the end of 2021

At the roosters game and the rioters fans are talking Tedesco wants out life's a beach

Can probably tell by my user, but I wouldn't be too upset if he did end up coming back here….

Who wouldn't, he's an elite fullback. His judgement is questionable but we could sure use him right now. No way we'd have him back for a million per year, TPAs or not, but for 800 and a promise to not hog the ball, yes. Only pie in the sky though.

Would 100% take Tedesco back, the Roosters have ruined him

Brooks needs to have a chat with him.

Twice he wanted out and you'd take him back? Tedesco looks a couple of yards slower than he was with WTs. No thanks stay with your Eastern Suburbs Elite mates.

Why not wait and see how our young fullback in U20s progresses. He has a lot of talent.

Does he? What are his strengths? I actually have no idea, only that Tigers management saw something in him, to bring him over from the Sharks system. And what about our development players - Gibbs and McIntyre, how are they going. I noticed McIntyre has been picked as a centre in ISP when I thought he was a forward….

We don't need Teddy back. I know Tui might be a bit unfit now to play first grade right now but he'll come good. He's probably just going through a hard time. He's managed to slim down from when he came from the Warriors because they always had him on the reserve and he didn't even get to play reserve grade. He's probably just not use to playing 80 minutes for weeks on end and after a few weeks he's probably in bad condition. Tui has the potential to be so much better than Tedesco, he just needs to get his speed, footwork and fitness back. It's only round 8, Tui could come back later in the season once he gets all those things back.

He's almost had a full year here. If he can't find the motivation in that time when he was guaranteed the fullback spot, he never will. At least not here.

That is probably the hard, cold and sad truth. His only excuse might be that he seems to have had a persistent knee niggle this year. That can ruin confidence, especially when you rely on a step and acceleration. I'd love to seem him return to his slashing 2016 form but, with each day that passes, it seems less likely.

Yeah, Tui just needs to get back his "speed, footwork and fitness"…......
And his passing and kicking game, his ability under a high ball, his defence and positional play, and his desire and effort levels....
There's about the same chance of all that happening as there is of Teddy coming back to the Tigers anytime in the next 3.75 seasons!
