Idk how much to read into Manly’s CEO, It means nothing. How many times do clubs make those kinds of statements on players and coaches and a week later the player/coach is gone.

o.k. killing of the curtis rona signing for good , this was from his own mouth last night, yes the tigers offered me a contract which was very good and i would have signed, but i wanted to go to the rugby world cup. he was at the star casino with heaps of players and benji.

He doesn't go off contract until the end of 2019.

Good. He's past it. Need to look elsewhere.

Maybe it's time to have a sneaky look in the super league.

The decent ones over there are locked up under contracts and it's a waste of money to pay the kinds of transfer fees ESL clubs would require to release a top shelf (ESL) hooker. James Roby and Daryl Clark would probably be the picks but Roby is probably too old now to bother playing NRL and Daryl Clark wasn't interested in NRL the last time he re-signed over there. We'd be better off looking locally if there is a need to improve our depth there.

Manly CEO Lyall Gorman confirms centre Brian Kelly will be at Manly in 2019
MAY 28, 2018

MANLY CEO Lyall Gorman has confirmed the Sea Eagles will retain centre Brian Kelly despite fears he could be released due to the club’s salary cap drama.

Kelly had received interest from the Wests Tigers and Cowboys, but Gorman said the Lismore-born back is contracted and staying at Brookvale.

“Brian is contracted for next year,” Gorman told The Daily Telegraph about Kelly, who has scored three tries in 12 games this year.

“Absolutely, he will be here next season.”

Kelly’s retainment is a big boost for a Manly side that has been plagued by off-field drama all season.

The Sea Eagles’ cap situation has forced the club to part ways with a number of players, including Fijian flyer Aku Uate.

Fantastic news. The guy is average, no better or worse than our existing depth players.

That doesn't surprise me and if hes kept up his form he's probably acting like a complete dick towards Mitch Rein and letting him know he's the #1 hooker at the club. Zero interest in having him here and he's really not that good.

Siliva Havili could be a good option not signed in 2019(Ricky said today they want him to stay)

He has done really well for Raiders but with Josh Hodgson to come back and is signed there until 2022 his pathway will be blocked.
