Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Stats in todays paper show Brian Kelly as the worst defensive centre in the NRL, Gagai 2nd Hiku 3rd.
So he would probably fit right in here, no tigers in top 6 missed tackles for centres though

Whatever the stats are they don't show him as the worst defensive centre, they just show he has the most missed tackles or the worst tackle efficiency or something like that. I doubt he is ahead of Hiku on either of those counts though. Supercoach and champion data stats show Hiku with more missed tackles and worse tackle efficiency than Kelly and Gagai and Hiku has been awful to watch in defence too. Kelly isn't a good defensive centre by any stretch but he doesn't look noticeably awful. Brenko Lee is noticeably awful - he doesn't even get a hand on his opposing number as he lets them stroll by so it doesn't register as a missed tackle. Kerrod Holland on the weekend also appeared awful - he reacted way too slowly to shifts and got repeatedly burned on the outside by Jarrod Croker on regulation backline movements. I've seen quite a few of Kelly's games and he's not struck me as bad in his reads or too slow or too lazy, he's just not yet got the size to be a great 1 v 1 defender.

So next year we have Reynolds and after he pulls a hamstring in the round 1 warmup we have Gamble to run the show.
Fantastic!

Maybe Mbye. Cleary doesn't mind shuffling.

I know it has only been 1 game but gee I liked the look of Mbye at fullback last week. He needs to stay in the 1 and grow his game there I think.

I agree. He looked very dangerous.

I think Farah could easily transition into 2nd receiver..

And maybe Adam Milner …another 90kg plodder ...

Was just looking up his profile and just shook my head when I read 91kg.

At least he put on a kilo

You do realise Adam Milner is a hooker right…

Profile says loose forward and/or hooker. Surely if our future is Liddle and we’re looking at Segeyaro, then we are buying Milner as a loose forward, a 91kg loose forward.

More of a lock than a hooker …
We already have enough dwarfs

And why would we need another Hooker when we have Liddle and are looking at Segeyaro ?

We are clearing the decks at the moment. Who for will be interesting. Off the books next year looks like a large amount.

Siro 450k, Tui 350k, MWX $100k, Kev 300k, Grant 350k, Suli 400k, Milne 200k, Mcilwrick 150k totals 2.3m.

We have signed or increased the following for next year: Mbye 500k (subsidised by Dogs), Corey Thompson say 200k increase, Garner say 150k increase, Marsters say 250k increase: Total 1.1m.

Reports were we had and front loaded 1m in salary cap for this year.

If Tui leaves and Marshall and Farah don’t get signed we have 7 spots and 2.2m available next year. That’s a heap of room for new players.

Does anyone see it any differently or knows who we are targeting?

I wish I could see where you got Sirro on $450k…. :roll

Because the Coach knows you would be upset.

Obviously looking at a new backup hooker, Segeyaro or this Milner chap. At 91kg he must be a hooker. No way in hell he could play anywhere else in the forwards at that size. For those that watch ESL is he at least a stand out?
