Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I wonder if Ivan is putting in play Nathan to Tigers 2019 early release , I think if he asked for it they may well grant it
Also who I think we may land next year
James Tamou , Brian Kelly , Nathan Cleary , and 2 ISP up and coming guys like Twal

Fox reporting Brisbane after Mitchell Moses
Nearly signed last year but Bennett said no

Cowboys after Oats and Glen from Brisbane
Oats rumored to be waiting for a change of manager before signing

Will be interesting to see what happens

And tigers interested in ….......

Tigers are interested in patience.

Don't you find it a little refreshing, that Tigers are not being linked to each and every player off contract? Cast your mind back to 2017 when every player in the game was linked to Tigers and Newcastle.

Signings will come and lack of noise doesn't mean lack of interest.

Fair point.

I’m finding nearly everything to do with Tigers this year refreshing.

The one area that continues to frustrate me is recruitment I don’t doubt a lot is happening behind the scenes. But what frustrates me is not much ever seems to eventuate. I suppose I should use the logic that this area will improve in accordance with our general improvement…... but do good players want to come here?

And yes - it is great to be out of the media spotlight

Heard we tabled an offer for Anthony Don from the GC….

That’s a Tigers signing if ever I’ve heard one.

Plodder special

60 odd trys in 100 games. If that's what you call a plodder, lets sign more.

Yes he has scored a lot of tries

Feki has 54 from 117 games

Feki is 27 , Don is 31 in September

Ran into Wes Naquama at the Lovedale Long
Lunch in May, found the post but don’t know how to reinstate it , however. I asked him what was happening with Kev, he said ESL, then asked what’s in it for Tigers, he said winger from Sharks, I thought Holmes , but could be Feki

Yeah remember you mentioning it at the time , you thought Wes may have had a couple at the time

Feki is pretty handy , runs hard , and won't come with a ridiculous price tag

It would fir the rumour of Robbie playing one more season but Benji retiring.

Do you really feel not much seems to eventuate in recruitment?

We signed more players for the 2018 season than any other club - Reynolds, Benji, Mats, McQueen, Rochow, Thompson, Packer, Fonua, Milne, Godinet, Gamble. And Tui from mid-season.

Not all of them worked out, but already we've cleared for 2019 Killer, Naiqama, Tui, Milne, MWZ.

And in the 4 months since Rd 1 kickoff we've signed Mbye, Farah and promoted Garner, all with immediate effect.

I count 14 players in our Top 30 that weren't on the roster at the end of 2017\. That's a lot of footballers, even for us trying to overhaul the squad.

So it's looking like Feki and Don in the backs and Taukeiaho and Merrin in the forwards are most likely out of all players mentioned on here. If they are the most likely possibilities for us for next year than I will be more than happy.

You can add Tamou there.

Really? Even better

Anthony don is a bit yes from me I’ve always admired his endeavour, he has killed us every time we played them. Consistent performer with aerial ability and not on large coin. Would add to our depth.

X2, would improve our squad without over committing. Matterson would be handy too and may be on outer considering roosters interest in tpj (although this could just be a smokescreen to increase his bargaining power with the broncs)
