Newcastle's dilemma

He’s the best young forward to come out of Newcastle for many years - but I’m hearing Lachlan Fitzgibbon isn’t happy and wants out for next season.

The 24-year-old Fitzgibbon had a great year in 2018 and looks to have a massive future in the game.

But for some reason - probably a secret approach for a rival club - he is looking to get a release from the final year of his contract in 2019.

It leaves the Knights with the classic dilemma: do you keep a player who isn’t happy, or just cut him loose?

Fitzgibbon is all class; a power forward with the ability to break the line, and would be a massive loss for the club.

Knights officials are desperately trying to solve his problems and make him feel an integral part of the club again

Sounds like someone we could be targeting

A position we need to bolster

Geoff Toovey…

Yeah 25 years ago 100 % with you Geo

Same goes for Ricky Stuart , Paul Green , Mal Meninga , Kevin Walters , Nathan Brown , Steve Kearney , Trent Barrett and Brad Fittler

Actually look what I've done , sorted out our centre issue ,back row issue and it would be a case of Luke Who, Benji Who and Josh Who with those halves

Bloody hell , we'd have Kevin Walters on the bench

Lol you've got no idea if you don't think Takairangi would be an upgrade and he also offers versatility.

He'd be better than the options we have at left centre but we don't have unlimited roster spots and personally I'd rather us aim higher and try to land a real strike weapon for the back line. He'd be ok as a stop-gap for 2019 at left centre if we were targeting a bigger name for 2020 I guess, especially given his utility value as he could move to bench/depth in 2020.

i get where ur coming from nelson, but why would we be waiting to 2020 to sign a bigger name we has cash now , yet no one. i think if we wait till 2020 u will be waiting to 2021 then 2022 and so on.

And the marquee center we would all like is:- drum roll please–

Oh Ok :unamused:

We couldn't afford the weekly investigations we would need to hold

Your forever on about signing the Honey Bagder in your PM's

Why don't you push him on the Suggestions and rumours page

Might help us over the 1000 page mark , better option than Curtis Rona as well , funnier and better looking with those golden locks

Only a rumour of course but if any truth to it my money would be on Souths being behind it.

Dylan Walker for me too.

Who would have thought that Ayoub would play the welfare card. Maybe he can find an ex titans player to tell the media how their treatment of him drove him to consider suicide.

Ayoub is a 1st class grub

Toovey did a great job for Manly, both as a player and coach - they showed him scant respect in showing him the door. I like a coach that can fire up! Would be great for us.
Toovey and Madge both similar mould.

No thanks

Ok Nuck - whom do you recommend???

Maguire or ivan

If Toovey and Maguire are in the same mould - and you say no to one - you have to say no to the other.

You do realise Madge is Maguire don't you?

Yeah that would make the most sense if it were true. They definitely need a replacement for Crichton and John Sutton isn't getting any younger.
