how quickly we forget that we have Thompson, our best player last year, he covers both FB and wing positions :sign:

Smith is a definite smokey for round one. He was chased hard by Madge when he was at Souths, but he chose us. A tall, fast, skillful fullback/wing. Exactly what our squad is missing. Unless we sign a star winger, Smith is our option.
I'm sure Madge realises our lack of pace and skill. Wouldn't be surprised one bit if at some point Smith gets a wing with Nof and Thompson fighting it out for the other. We need a change in game plan. Having players like Nof and Thompson as both starting wingers won't get us into the finals….

Thompson was a starting winger when dogs made the 2014 Gf.
Reynolds and Mbye were also starters.

And when they got to the Grand Final they just couldnt score any points.

30-6 to Souths.

Balmain Boy is right, we cant run out with this Cleary looking squad and expect we will suddenly score more points this season. We need a couple of changes. It might not be round 1 but guys like this Dylan Smith have an opportunity if they work hard enough.

Wasn’t Thompson fault we couldn’t score points. Undersize pack, injured starting props, weak backrow, no hooker, passenger 6, isp centre…,.and you blame the winger????

I like Thompson - he tries his guts out.
Saying that you also need to be realistic…. how many other teams would have him as starting winger?

Thompson was great this year. I’d have him in the side as the first choice winger.

I havent blamed the winger at all. Are you his girlfriend or something?

Seriously havent blamed him just saying the team they had lacked points.

Agree, Thompson was one of our best.
There were many reasons we came 9th(which wasn’t as bad as it could have been) but ultimately we never had a stable 17 the whole year.
The big let down was our middle forwards and execution on the edges.
Fonua and Cheekam dropped more balls than a preschool cricket match.

If you really watched the tigers this year you would lay off having a dig at the little fella.

Parra are ripe for the pilfering. We just need to work out which position we are after most.
Manu Mau possibly RHS 2nd Row and Matterson to lock.
Twal starting Prop. He looks massive in the pre season pics.

Only flaw is I think Manu Mau plays on Lawrence’s left side.

In that one game they lacked points.

They must have scored some decent points throughout the season to make it to the big dance.

Great news for BBF

Todd Carney is Captain Coach of some Byron Bay team

http://www.msn.com/en-au/sport/rugby-league/carney-reveals-surprise-new-post-nrl-role/ar-BBPLPfx?li=AAgg0Zv&ocid=ASUDHP

Yeah Carney is Capt/Coach of the Byron Bay Red Devils, A struggling side last year.

While one of Brookvales greats Jamie Lyon takes the reigns at the Ballina Seagulls, A most dominant club in recent years with 3 or 4 Grandfinals in the last 6 seasons.

Brent Kite who in his first year coaching, Got the Sheild for getting the Tweed Raiders an upset GF win over Ballina in 2018.
And Danny Wicks is Captaining the Grafton Ghost.
A fair bit to get excited about for the Northern Rivers league fans in this upcoming season.

Yeah the eels are looking to offload players ….. mitch can be brought for a song

He isn't even worth a Nickelback song.

This is how you remind me

You guys are on fire lol

Ha

They actually did a very good song called "Never Again". Which amazingly got little to no airplay…
Unlike 'this is how you remind me' which made me want to throw my radio over a bridge!

That said I blame commercial radio more then anyone else. They have gotten a little better but it used to be X artist, ok they have 2 songs MAX. Yes only Thunderstruck and Dirty deeds for ACDC (ok they may have played other songs, but man it's hard to tell).

Less than a week ago Gus tweeted Merrin was staying. Is there a bigger liar in the game? He’s pathological.

Penrith were desperate for Merrin to go and when he back flipped on the Leeds deal, they had a cap problem. My guess Merrin has got a nice golden handshake from Gus on top of his juicy Leeds deal.

He probably has a big smile on his dail for the first time since Sally surfed off into the sunset

Spot on SC Penrith were going to be in big cap trouble if Merrin stayed.

Maybe Merrin played Gus the way Gus likes to play people.

I would say you are spot on bathursttiger

Surprised no one had mentioned Dylan Walker

MG said in triple M he's heard there's a good chance he might be following Madge and heading to tigers next year

He was mentioned pages ago, old news.

Would love to have a stab at Joe Ofengowiue. Broncos salary will be tight with all these young forwards getting upgraded. He's from Sydney isn't he? Big strong and can churn out the metres.
