Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

thats why the drag queens released mann, it would appear they signed Jennings, then. again are club has been caught sitting on the hands, must clubs have been signing but we just stick are heads in the sand.

Not being rude

But are you the ceo of the tiger's ?

No?

Than how do you know we didn't try or that Jennings is even going to dragons?

He may have signed with us. He might not have. We might not even of tried as we may not of been interested.

Who knows?

Have you thought - just maybe - the coach and the club don't want most of the players you are calling them out on.

End of 2019 there will be a big market on players, maybe that is what they are waiting for. That will also give Mage a good chance to assess our full roster next year.

Do we really need more prop forwards, surely this is enough? Packer, Matulino, Twal, Eisenhuth, Musgrove, Mikaele & Clark.

I'd be happy with Alex Johnston & Robert Jennings. Is it unrealistic to think we could afford both? I get we would potentially need to move someone on to fit two but again, that shouldn't be a showstopper

We've got enough props. We need pace and more pace in the backline. There is no way we can go into 2019 with the lack of pace we have.

There is no way a Luke Brooks and Benji Marshall/ Reynolds halves combination do anything next year without some forward dominance.

Benji to Centre.

I think that Benji played centre outside Luke and Braith in Luke,s first NRL game.

If Benji is our number 2 centre then we are stuffed bigtime.

Id prefer Benji to assistant coach but yours is a fair enough suggestion. Would at least free up the 5/8 spot for Reynolds and might mean a few less kicks on the 3rd damn tackle.

It's benji, he can play front row if he likes.

Maybe BP is a whiner, but hey when I read the newspaper I am not seeing us linked to many signings. He has a point.

IMHO, that is not a bad thing. We have a brand new coach. His only step was signing Zane Musgrove and a Burgess as assistant coach.
Which to me means he thinks we need oomph in the front pack and is working on that.

if so Madge, spot on.

With respect BT , that was 6 seasons ago

I wasn’t suggesting that Benji should play centre, I was just stating that he played centre in that game.

Who cares who we are linked to in the papers. Just because we are not linked does not mean we wouldn’t be putting the feelers out. You have rocks in your head if you think the club is sitting on their hands.

I'm hoping that we would be trying to secure another aggressive forward now that Musgrove won't be coming. Does anyone have any news on that?

Have you thought - just maybe - the coach and the club don't want most of the players you are calling them out on.

End of 2019 there will be a big market on players, maybe that is what they are waiting for. That will also give Mage a good chance to assess our full roster next year.

I understand what you are saying but there has to come a time when it's about this year, rather than next year.

Tend to agree, every year we get the same vibe, that next year we will go hard in the player market for the following season, and at some point time we have to get very serious about the coming season.

Okay new coach inherits basically all but a full house with very little wiggle room makes it all but impossible to do much with the roster, so it’s very hard to see us making any ground up the ladder. The two and possibly three signings we have made are good but once again expectations are not great

Yeah agree with avocado on this. I'm pretty sure we've heard the rhetoric about waiting for the big market of good players available for the past 2 off seasons. Now we have to wait another year before we actually make a move on the top players that are available? Like a kid in the edge of a high platform diving board, we always seem to be too scared to take the leap for some reason.

We have a near full roster for the year , i am not sure why all the forum users want to sign anyone and everyone.lets have faith in the people we have
