@ said:The cap penalty means we are done buying for this year I’d say , although would be happy with Johnston or R Jennings.
How I see it too. Unless the cap penalty is reduced, I can't see us adding anyone else for 2019.

No way. By far the worst option. 150k a year out of 9.2 million is tiny, and can easily be managed. That's one Robbie Rochow replaced with a junior.
650k in one hit means we can't sign another quality player for next year (unless others move on) and this would greatly impact our ability to improve our squad and make the 8.
If we happened to be under the cap in future seasons we may even be able to bring forwards some of the cap hit from subsequent seasons rather than front loading contracts like we've done in recent years.
If we are hit with the full 650k cap hit it would be madness to take it in one go if there are other options. If we have no say in it then there's nothing we can do..!
The NRL are a highly inept and incompetent organisation that squanders millions and repeatedly makes atrocious decisions. Their provisional autocratic judgement should be taken with a grain of salt for now.
@ said:It's Jennings we need to get and a good forward from the final feeding frenzy prior to season start. This is where the intended NRL penalty will wreck the clubs season if we don't vigorously fight it.
I think WT will not go ahead with Musgrave contract since NRL have held it. WT should take the opportunity to formally remove it due to inappropriate player behaviour. Let's see the NRL screw us over that stance.
@ said:Rumour has it that Kapow wants out of Manly. Now that’s What we need. Perhaps we could swap him for McQueen?
@ said:I just read he’s going to the Roosters. If that happens then there is no salary cap and Uncle Nick needs to be the Australian treasurer!

Seeing the Tigers are salary cap cheats I would sign Jennings and another forward …when in Rome ! Does it really matter at the end of the day it is the only way you get anywhere and respect from the NRL.

Musgroves money would pay for Jennings I’d say
