Interesting that packer is out of the Canterbury cup side yet there is no mention of injury. He could be backing up for one of our players going into origin camp but i doubt that would be the case.

Just thinking, sometimes when a player who really should be playing first grade pulls out of reserves, is because they are changing clubs soon. There's been a few examples of that recently...

I'm thinking this could be part of the DWZ trade myself.

Will be filthy if that is the case

Packer is still a quality forward ......it wouldn't take much injury or rep wise for him to be badly needed

@happy_tiger i know what your saying but at the Tigers prop he is effectivley behind Mats, Twal, Aloai, Eisenhuth, Mikelle, Oli Clarke so unlikely to be required

Clarke made 159 meters today so surely he is due another call up.

I still am very concerned about the regenerational knee treatment DWZ has been getting

Don't claim to be an expert on this , but the players I've hard who have had it are near the end of their careers or had continual knee issues

Was Dallin named in the Penrith Panthers Canterbury cup side this week as he wasn't in the side today.

No, he was left out/rested Fonua style

It is very hard to get yourself up after deaths in the family / fellow players

I can't see DWZ is the sort of player we need at all. Not a bad player, sort of good at everything, special at nothing. Knee and hammy issues probably means he has been as good as he's ever going to be. I'd chase hard on Drinkwater or even Papenhuyzen, surely they aren't going to cost the earth but they both seem to have a spark we are lacking. Even if DWZ comes as part of a Packer, ET offload, I just think it crowds an already mediocre roster of backs and eats at least half of the cap benefit
I also think we need to encourage both Robbie and Benji to announce that this is their last season(s) if possible as it clearly states we are moving forward with a new team, not to mention that we have some cap to play with. Plus we can then recognize them and their contribution to the club in the right way for the balance of the year

Breaking: The Dragons have been given salary cap dispensation by the NRL because Jack De Belin has been stood down. They have $239,000 to spend on a forward for this year. @9NewsSyd

That should see Trent Merrin returning for them.
