@hsvjones

We need sheens back he is the only man that could/would help.

Yes Sheensy is an expert at back ended deals and paying players to play for other teams..

Exactly what we need

Sheens had us playing an attractive style of footy that made us a respected side. One thing under Sheens, we wouldn't have let outstanding junior talent leave that has gone on to have great success as other clubs.

Fifita certainly went ok elsewhere after sheens booted him and gibbs out to get blair.There are probably others

@snowy55 We actually had a team a few years back we could build on. Now, realistically you’d keep Matterson, Twal, Aloiai and probs move the rest on. There’s nothing here to build on anymore. It’s a mixture of has beens and never will be’s.

No patience we could have snared Pearce, Klemmer, DWZ if we had coin but we spent it on Packer, Reynolds, Matulino, ET etc.

Ah we live in the real world here.

Pearce to Tigers? He turned us down when he was a junior but he's gonna change his mind now? But that's not even the major point - he only left Roosters after they signed Cronk; Tigers had already moved on Reynolds months earlier. Tigers made the comment that they couldn't afford to wait for Cronk to make his mind up, they needed to sort their roster. Not like Roosters who can afford to wait to sign million-dollar footballers.

Klemmer - specifically wanted out of Sydney; wasnt even off contract. If you reckon Klem was going to quit Bulldogs to move 5 suburbs across to the Tigers then I'll have a double serve of whatever you are smoking.

Some people seem to think recruitment is so straight forward and you can just bandy about names and dollars.

Not to mention, we signed ET midway through 2016 under JT.

@jadtiger Fifita then is not the Fifita now and despite this, he has still had his fair share of headlines. Sheens knows talent and I think players know he coached an attacking style, faster players with flair were attracted to us.

@jadtiger

I spoke to Andrew Fifita about that the other at KFC at Miranda man hes a big eater he ordered 3 buckets of chicken he said Sheens chose Matt Groat over him instead of people thinking it was adam bair

@crazycat

Who did Sheens have a back ended contract for ? The only big mistake was Lawrence and thats only because he got injured its easybto blame Sheens but most of the mistakes was the board not listening to Mick Potter and the contracts signed in his time as coach

Watching Dogs game young Meany looks pretty good and now looks like permanent reserve grade , certainly looks better than what we have atm at fullback and would be a low cost edition definitely has an upside to him .

We could see if the dogs are willing to release/trade him for someone.

My point is we overpaid average players if you pay big dollars it needs to be proven stars. We don’t have that opportunity to even compete for signatures.

@Snake I am amazed DWZ choose Dogs over us as we think we are bad but they are terrible and on bottom of the ladder... It must of been a massive pay day over us.. Looking at Meaney i think he would be a great pickup and not a lot of money..

If the reports are right we couldn’t sign him due to cap constraints. We had to get sign off to sign Jennings earlier in the year. He probably wants to play now to retain a NZ spot and the deal is 18 months. He could technically sign for 2021 this offseason with any team.

@TYGA if the Pom is out there any info would be great

I think the evidence is in Madge’s words he rates DWZ and couldn’t sign him. Being the NZ coach it would have to be the cap position. Who knows.

TBH we need forwards it’s better we didn’t tie up cap for an unproven fullback. He wanted out to play the position.

The best news on our front is not signings it’s unloading players and not paying them to play elsewhere. Good luck with that.

Poor old Pom like many others is rocking quietly in the foetal position in a darkened corner of the house
