Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Ridiculous money. I don't think he is worth it, but even if he plays well for 5-6 years, there is no guarantee he is going to be worth $1.1 million when hes 29-32 years old. Could be a long few years at the end of that deal.

I think that at this stage we should be concentrating in this thread on the progress situation of players most likely to be released by the club.

@TYGA For mine he is the best player in the game. Totally worth it. I can't see him leaving Rorters though.

But good on Bulldogs, it might make Roosters pay him some more under their cap for a change.

funny how the dogs cap problems have just disappeared and now there buying every one, are we the only mugs at this cap game or what.

It’s a big risk outlaying that much $$ on one player. They must be thinking of playing him at FB. Potentially his best position but will require an adjustment from him which adds to the risk.

It would seem that way, we are not only abiding by the cap but playing $330k under whilst everyone else just hums along at what ever they think is fair

@bythebeardofzeus i suppose though the Dogs or anyone else can offer him anything, its only if he accepts and then the club has to actually find the money by shedding players for cheaper versions to build a squad around.

Absolutely insane to offer a 10 year deal to anyone on that sort of money,he is a good player but 10 years is a long time

I agree, it's incredibly high risk. Perhaps there's no-one left at the Bulldogs who remembers the disastrous five year Brent Sherwin signing.

We could offer Mitchell a 10 year contract which includes 1 Gatorade (colour if his choice) per week, a free WTs singlet and use of our gym whenever he likes. Eat that bulldogs.

@balmain-boy The NFL and College football is on in the off-season. Whether JAC and his manager were reasonable or not, the facts, as presented, are that our boss was on leave and nobody could handle the JAC matter. Maybe that's untrue but that's how the story has been told.

If Wests Tigers want a good value for money signing, we should be keeping an eye on the PNG game at Leichhardt on the weekend. Some of those Kumuls boys are seriously underrated. They all play with heart, and they're gentlemen off the field.

Yep Madge should have a look at Edene Gebbie fullback for Kumuls. Plays FB for Wynnum Manly. He is fast and his attacking stats are outstanding - defence could be a bit suspect though.

Good luck with that one. Hasn’t displayed professional performance over numerous years to take that sort of risk.

He is a good player that has a star team around him - not sure he would be so good in a team that is always outside the 8.

I wonder how much Greenberg is being paid per annum by the NRL for overseeing CAP fraud?

Last roster spot will be a development player.

Unsurprising. It's becoming more and more obvious that we are stuck with who we have for another couple of seasons. Real shame we didn't nab DWZ, they don't come around that often.

It's going to be rough going for a fair while yet and there's nothing to suggest it's going to be any better after that. You have to wonder whether it's worth the investment of time as a supporter.
