That bit where they discussed Politis/Roosters and the brown paper bags backs-up the common held belief the Roosters are cheating the cap and have been doing it for decades!!


They’d only have gotten better over the years. Amazing that our governing body pretend all is ok. Just a reminder if their apathetic attitude was the Sharks compliance in 2016 despite non compliance in 2015 and 2017. Terrible terrible governance

Its a bit embarrassing that they caught us.

Going by what Singo said, it's in the "gifts" . Not sure how you can give someone an ambassadors role as a gift.

All it did was confirm what i and many others have said for years, the cap is a joke and IS being rorted continuously, yet there are still some who pretend it's all ok because there is no "proof" :laughing: :laughing: :laughing:

The NRL should look at introducing a salary cap along the lines of Super Coach a value is placed on each player clubs can pay them what they like but once your Super Coach salary ceiling is reach thats it you have to release a player to sign another player players value can escalate or reduce but stays constant whilst under contract once contract is up the new value kicks in.

Reading the last 100 pages it seems Packer is staying and McQueen are staying due lack of interest. The only gaps we are going to have is Matterson..arguably our best player and a rough chance of Reynolds and Mats ( if he gets a medical discharge)

So it is highly unlikely our roster is going to be much different in 2020. I guess we all knew that but it is some what depressing

At this stage we'll have the same team as last year but missing Matterson and no specialist hooker.

It sounds terrible doesn't it. We need to improve on last year but we look to be going backwards. Let's hope Madge can pull a rabbit out of the hat.


What happened to the ‘benefit’ we’re supposed to be getting out of releasing Matterson? Everyone seemed so sure we wouldn’t let him go without getting something in return.

I don’t know, I’m only responding to the posts that I quoted. Click on the little icon and read those first and you’ll see why I asked the question.

You're asking the peanut gallery and taking the answer as given. 99% of us haven't got a clue and are just throwing darts in a darkened room. You also seem resigned to the fact that we're going to be screwed over, hence the half glass empty question.

Do you really prefer pages? Having a limited amount of information and having to click from one page to the next?

Having infinite scrolling makes things much easier. Just keep scrolling up and down the thread to see the new comments. Each time you return to the thread you can start the page at your last unread post.

Surely this is a much easier way of managing the forum - particularly for a thread like this with a ridiculous amount of posts. Let the system do the work of keeping track of what you have and haven't read yet!

Perhaps. What I found with the infinite scroll when the forum had its first layout overhaul was that it would drop you in the middle of nowhere, and you'd have to work out where you were up to. At least with pages you can remember you were on page 15 for example. Or if you go to the recents page and click on the last post in a thread, it will take you to the last post. And it makes it easier only having to scroll back a page or two. As I understand it, both options are available, so its whatever suits you. Its like chocolate and vanilla. You can have your vanilla, i'll have my chocolate.

We have millions wasting away in CC now anyway. Another 400k won't make a difference.
I'd make him stay. He doesn't deserve to be released.
Or make his manager make JT break his contract with NQ and sign with us.
Plenty of players in the Orr stable I'd take as compensation.
Let's make it up to them to make a deal happen.

Not really - they are always on the hunt for a small fish to catch so they can tell everyone what a wonderful job they are doing. That and **the fact we told them** we were cheating may have helped them.
