In Telly today there was a rumour post with a teaser Q:-
Which two rep stars could be part of a tree club shuffle..?.
Have a guess to win a prize!
Rey Rey Titans
Matto Titans
AJ Brimson Tigers
Jai Arrow Sharks
That works. You’re in the game!
That cronulla mob amaze me, I heard on the radio yesterday that they had signed Ramien but the NRL wont register the contract till they offload someone.....is their policy buy buy and buy and worry about it later
They’re a wacky and wonderful bunch
They buy a lot more talent than the chooks IMO.
Agreed, for the life of me though, I cannot work out how/why... view them as a club that was not dissimilar from ours for most of the JV - lost a lot of good juniors/struggled recruiting marquee talent but even then were able to snag Flanagan and with the aid of a few humble peptides...
Well you know how the story goes - except that apparently they didn’t cheat in their premiership year, and we knowingly cheated around trying to secure an ambassadorial role with one out of favour coach for an absolute legend of the club and absolutely, the game in Lebanon. Was common knowledge and about as close as you could get to freedom of information in relation to a player of such standing within the game and what his future may have looked like with us. Definitely was heartfelt and maybe slightly naive or rushed in hindsight, but blatant cheating, no warnings given? Wow.
In many high circles and the mainstream media it was reported and published (via official NRL media outlets too) that an **offer** had been put in place at the time; sorry for going off on one exremely tantalising tangent guys but I’d like to know who the majority of people on this forum believe ratted us out with actual proof to the contrary of it being just an offer (which could’ve all been sorted behind closed doors prior to start 2018 season) to Greenzurg and committee?
Surely, surely the fine is still excessive and there would be discourse for us to apply for the same *total* leniency that Sharkies did.. numerous times before mind you... via this crazy, stupid new rule regarding a club self-reporting on it’s supposed cheating???
Wow, come to think of it i’ve always thought that there was a little bit more to the really bitter fallout between Cleary and Pascoe... a bit of insurance for Iv to know that we wouldn’t have any funds to make a double play for him and his son or any other potential Panthers gems he was set to uncover = not many it seems.
I simply refuse to believe that one of the sources who had previously reported details of the ‘agreement’, or the fact that a totally different coach in a different predicament to Jason Taylor arguably had his hands tied in re-signing Farah for an extra season corresponds with us knowingly cheating the cap... if he takes up his offer and retires from football then the cheating ceases to exist (in the sense it was reported) as Robbie *would be retired...
So, which camp and why put the new information forward to “self report” on us and at such an inconvenient time too? The NRL technically should have come in to say look guys, if Robbie is in to play another season then simply rescind the previous offer and reschedule negotiations for after RD 25 this year... in the scheme of things, almost seems like a perfectly planned distraction to offset the uproar about Cronulla.
Boy the tin foil is out and about today!
*assuming they even cleared it initially
