We can dream right!?

He would go good at fullback. But can we afford to wait that long for a fullback?

Yes

Yes

Ugh, too bad there's no transfer window. We need a fullback for 2020. Thompson is serviceable, but he's not good enough to provide us what we need. Mbye has too many issues under the high ball, something your fullback can't have. Dylan Smith, no idea if he'll ever play first grade.

We have to be careful what we do this season. If we sign someone like Moylan, somebody we genuinely need could come along and then we can't get them. It happened with Mbye. If we didn't sign Mbye, we would've had the money to sign DWZ.

Maybe we need to run a fill-in for 2020 again, then go heavy in the market this off season trying to sign someone like Manu to come here in 2021.

According to this article the Roosters would rather hang on to Manu than try and retain Mitchell. Time will tell how the cards fall.

@The_Patriot I rate him higher than Mitchell. Such a class player. He is always welcome, whenever he wants, the door is open for him.

The roosters are eyeing Fifita for a backrow spot that is already over crowded, no room for Matterson

You can't just ban TPAs, you would be banning players from all endorsements or even media work. There is just no way to do it that is fair on players.

@cochise Yes if that makes it a more level playing field. TPA's should definitely be banned :+1 said:

Centralise them with the NRL. If third parties want a player as a brand ambassador then fine, they can reach agreements with them via the NRL and the agreements will be transferable with the player and not contingent on them playing for any particular club. That way there is no restriction on the players making money, just a restriction on clubs artificially inflating their caps.

@cochise So you are happy for clubs like Roosters , Souths Broncos etc.. to have like 12 rep players in there team each week and clubs like us are lucky to have 2. There salary on the NRL books is like half of what they are actually getting as they are paid in TPA, Memberships at clubs, Partners on high paying jobs doing nothing, Rent paid for etc...
I don't care what they pay them and 100% they have the right to earn what they can but if they had a points system or something like that it would make an even playing field.
How hard is it for us to bring a top player here ? We have to pay through the roof as that player is getting paid a great package at E.g. Roosters through Salary, TPA, side benefits etc.. Why would they leave unless it was massive money.. However if it was an even playing field that big club cannot have all these top players on the books even if they could pay the on the side and that spreads the talent around..
Rant over but deep down alot of people would agree..
(Disclaimer before i get any reply's - I also understand our club needs to be run better but so does the NRL)

So how do you ensure that the person assigning points is fair? People disagree on player ability all the time. When are points assigned? Is it when they sign a new contract or do their points change during their contract? what attributes do you include? Do include games played as an attribute?

Why would a company in Campbelltown want to sponsor Luke Brooks if he moves to Brisbane?

Read somewhere today the roosters would pay about 750 for Latrell and 550 for Manu. Dogs will pay a mil for Latrell. I’d offer 800 building to a mil fo Manu just to stuff the roosters. They then choose between Manu, Latrell and Fifita. Only get 1 of the 3.

That’s a win for the whole comp

Because then they would get lots of Friday night exposure on TV.
