@2005magic Wests Tigers must sieze the moment and transfer Reynolds to the Bulldogs for $350K. Makes a lot of sense in the long run.

I dont think 350k should cut it if they came in with something around 500k i think we could wear that but i think thats too much to cop.

Barry O Farrell stated we got nothing in return. If Brown is signed it would be unrelated to the Matterson transaction. If it was Related it would already have been announced at the same time as it’s in the clubs interest to placate fans and sponsors losing a borderline origin player for nothing.

Yeah you’re right, I think it’s dreadful that we get nothing out of this Matterson farce. We just laid down and let him walk. The whole thing stinks!

We might end with Mitchell. But yeah, nothing...

We might, but no reason why we couldn’t get Mitchell as well as a forward swap for Matterson. Our pack has been severely weakened.

Whose to say we won't. How about we wait and see what happens before we go off the deep end, hanging the club for being incompetent. The roster has spots to be filled, so players are going to come from somewhere.

Drives most fans nuts.. but prefer all the player movements from the club under lock and key instead of leaking like a sieve

As TYGA posted, if there was a player swap it would’ve been announced at the same time as Matterson to Parra. So no swap, but hopefully we can still get a decent forward or two for next season from our own cap space.

lol..as much as we think they may be they are not meat..

Matterson was released so WT did not have to pay a cent from his 2020 contract..

New season for payments begins Nov 1..

Wouldnt it have cost us nothing? Matterson wasnt attending training nor was he taking part in any club duties. No play, no pay until situation resolved?

Why is it so important that it has to be a player swap? It’s more important Matterson’s money is used to sign a marquee player that could come from anywhere in the competition. Getting one back on Parra should be secondary.

This post id spot on, why would we take a player for Parra if we can find a better one some place else. Does anyone believe Parra would give up someone that they want to sign Matterson?

That is certainly the way WT will spin it I'm sure. Still their posturing and stance prior to the event was somewhat different, but true, they didnt say the swap / benefit HAD to come from the team accepting Matterson.

No spin ..... Madge would oversite all signings and he returns this week. No way would he endorse signings without speaking first hand with player and managers. So he returned from international duties early this week. So I think no announcements now until the end of the month if “cooling off” signing period Is taken into account.

All speculation on my part of course but must say I am impressed that no leaks from club so far have reached the media or this forum. Yes .... at last a tight ship.

Not fizzed to wait until it’s done or who we sign as I trust Madge to sign who he and his recruitment people think will best serve us short term until real Cap money becomes available next year. In the end he lives or dies on results the squad he assembles delivers on the park.

@innsaneink That would benefit both clubs...Let them take Mbye back as well IMO.

Yeah not so sure ...his best game for the WT's was his 2nd last game before injury ...and even then his last touch was a try assist

I'd be keeping him for the moment

There is no cooling off period

@momo_amp_medo no such thing as cooling off periods anymore. They've changed the rules regarding that. Also, Madge is a shrewd operator, he would have met with the people he would have needed to in the 3 days since he's been back. Should be an interesting next end to the week before Monday training.

Can we start a thread titled. 'We've finally signed someone'. Will save reading pages of the same dribble and my hopes let down when I get to the end and we still haven't signed anyone.

They've got Jack Cogger and that gun Brandon Wakeham waiting in the wings. Not being cheeky but I think they'd rather spend their cash elsewhere.

There must be something about Mbye that coaches see, to be signed for supposedly near 1m, being named captain & being in SOO which surprised me. Maybe he'll have a big 2020. Big $ to be a centre
