@Russell We are not buying groceries, we are purchasing the near future of our club, if it works out and he comes then our world changes if he can deliver the game we all know he's got. I would have thought that's what we all want.

Not sure what you are on about, but this is a $1m/year contract and he is still twiddling his thumbs going to see the Titans, who have said, they don't have the cash and wont guarantee what position they have for him. We have.

If he's coming (I hope he does) he has some work to do (he is not a journeyman player) and fishing with the family is not one of them, but again, I see nothing wrong in trying to determine his interest by putting a deadline on a decision.

So lets play this out... he is 22 and has a young family. He has won everything already - comps back to back, state of origin back to back and played for his country.

He has nothing to prove.

This is the biggest deal he will sign, he has the national coach showing interest and a lifestyle option up north that he can associate with.

LM has also basically played and trained non stop for close to 2yrs and finally decides to take a holiday with his family.

Our club doesn’t have alot of power here - cool offer overs but for what? Move away from winning everything to high risk work harder to maybe win half as much over the next 2yrs??

He owes us nothing at all, doesn’t even owe us any gratitude or respect. But he is interested at the very least for talks to have happened - that is a hell of alot more than what most players who have achieved half of what he has, has done. We aren’t leaking anymore as a club and people are getting frustrated.

I get people are frustrated because they get excited about the prospect and want this to happen & nothing is coming from formal channels mixed with 1000 people guessing - but this is a massive decision for LM and his family which normally would take months & we are just 2 weeks in...

Now back to Signing Suggestions.... just saw the forgotten man on Facebook post we’re one of the teams that have an eye on Dylan Brown for 2021

That would be a fantastic signing, a spine of if Latrell signs would be:

Fullback - Latrell Mitchell - 22 years old
5/8 - Dylan Brown - 19 years old
Halfback - Luke Brooks - 24 year old
Hooker - Jacob Liddle - 23 years old

Would be absolutely lethal and could dominate for a decade

If we can get Reynolds or Mybe out and offer the 800k towards Brown I’ll happily do that tomorrow

If they could all stay on the park with a forward pack that bends the line with quick play the balls - that spine would be lethal thats for sure.

Maybe, but Simpkin is highly rated north of the border, he may well see NRL before Liddle gets his body back on the field

He’s not back in the early roundS. He might be back towards the end of the year.

From Wests Tigers injury update 5 days ago:
"Having suffered a serious knee injury in Round 22 last season, Jacob Liddle took a huge step forward in his recovery this week with the removal of a knee brace.

Following a positive surgical review, the young hooker can now begin his lower body rehabilitation program with a planned return to running in the early rounds of the 2020 season."

He should be back running early next year and back in the team a short while after that

@avocadoontoast Edited that in afterwards. It'll take at most a month or two of training after returning to running for him to be back in the team. It won't take the entirety of the season if that's what you're implying

I think you watch his game and can tell the kid has the ability with his passing game alone, at just 19 years of age and sees the game the way he does with his footwork is absolutely beautiful

I know if I had the option of having either Mbye, Reynolds and Brown I’m picking Brown without hesitation

And I think he would be he perfect partner next to players like Brooks and Latrell

Who does everyone think we should target to replace Benji at 6? I think that Brimson would be a perfect replacement but it seems that he wants to play fullback instead of in the halves. Hopefully Jock Madden kicks on this year but I wouldn’t mind having a crack at Dylan brown from parra

Wouldn't mind making a play for Dylan Brown. Would be nice to see eels fans sweat a bit more.

When my favourite player actually takes control of a game regularly like all top shelf halves do ,he will have reached his potential..another aspect is Brookses defence was excellent last season .. it’s just criticism of a certain aspect of his game .
