Pretty simple really. BJ is an upgrade on anything we have. Would be the best centre in the club by a mile. That in itself should make the decision easy.

Only in this fan forum could a 2 x centre of the year Who is 28 years old be looked at as a negative signing. Out of ALL the centres off contract this year and next he is the TOP analytically and Metric rated centre. By the ratings he’s worth 700k a season. Tigers will get him for about $575k a season over 2 years. Which is a bargain. (Injury pending)

That’s a pretty Specific salary $575k.. Where’d you get that figure from?

To all and sundry saying "Just chuck the extra $100-$200K at AD and make it happen, it probably cant happen like that AND still get BJ.

If it comes down to BJ WANTS to come here and we can make it happen, but that means we cant throw an additional $100-$200K at AD to make it happen (at reported rates for AD), Im OK with that.

Make BJ happen, he is a specialist and proven over years, MBYE or CT in the 1.

If we can still squeeze AD in and he wants to come here, happy days but dont get in a bidding war with other clubs or get into a negotiation fight with Souffs if it means missing BJ.

We can fit both easily.

It is not that.

If you read The Pom's message, the issue is Doeuhei's salary in 2021 being backloaded.

We don't want to pay the inflated figure, which is 600 000.

Yes, it is a lot...but will be worth it if he continues on from the form he showed end of 2019. IMO he is going to be very good...offers an extra ball player...offers an opposite side of the field kicker to Brooks...height, safe, young.

Reality is also that you won't get a first grade NRL FB who is decent for much less.

Cheap route = use a stop gap solution / winger there.

The spine is incredibly important in modern footy. Yet we seem prepared to go into the season with stopgaps at FB and hooker. No real ballplayer in either spot.

Hard to fathom, but I hope you are all right with your confidence in Cory. I really don't rate him as anything other than an undersized winger, who tries really, really hard. No passing game, not reliable under the high ball, one assist in 2019, almost 30. All that screams "UK Super League" to me...not "NRL Finals".

Appreciate your opinion but I think if I had to choose one or the other I’d be going with AD. Not that I think it matters as we should have enough cap space for both.

People are forgetting that AD is an ex Wests Tiger junior and his family live in Concord. If we let him go it sounding like another Papenhuzen stuff up when the same arguments were put up by the Nay Sayers.

We have a much much much better chance of making the 8 with AD at fullback than CT.

The problem may not be Doueihi ‘s backended contract in so much as who may have been instrumental in writing it?
Ungrateful sobs.

some of you drooling over his signing would be disappointed if his supposed greatness or potential does not materialize - tone it down a bit - semis performance does not prove anything - that's just a handful of games - anyway I wished the kid greatness and that in turn if he signs with the club - we the WT mob benefits from that (potential) greatness

Semis don't prove anything?

Honestly, I am nearly lost for words...

Origin, finals...they are the ultimate tests of 'who' is quality.

Has it been so long that we have all forgotten what big games actually are? Every must win game in August we have been steamrolled...none of ours have stood up in a must win game for ages now...

But, yeah, semis don't count for evaluating prospective players.

Right well if Origin is the ultimate test then let's get that Gagai bloke off Souths then!

You got him there darn it...lol

I can see it now.... We hold firm over 100k and Roosters come in late and take him because Smith got injured and he kills it over there...
Just our luck we try and be a strong club and not been bullied but miss out on a potential star...

Still in shock AD is being talked about in the 500k range. Honestly, how did that even happen at Souths.

Simply put, AD is not a 500k player. He is JUST potential at this moment.

Name one starting fullback in the nrl who’s better than him and on less money.

Raiders didn't waste time in signing him did they, unlike what could happen to WT.

I agree with our approach. No overs for AD.
And great second tear signing.
I think that BJ would be a priority and really puts bit of spit and polish to our 3/4s.
