Do you think Thompson is a better fullback than Doueihi?

Personally I'm not sure who is better. I don't think Thompson is good enough and I though Mitchell would be great for us. A gun fullback would make a big difference to our team. I can't classify Doueihi a gun fullback though.

Does anyone believe Doueihi is a gun fullback ? Is he really much better than Corey ?

Tigers can’t overpay for Douehi he’s a centre or 5/8. Not superior to even Corey Thompson at fullback. We need players but a high priced utility I’d leave with Souths unless the price comes down.

Doesn’t look faster to me. He’s definitely less elusive. Doesn’t match Thompson for heart and effort (though few could). Doesn’t match him in support play as a consequence.




How can you possible say that .. Thompson stands out in this Tigers side as 70percent of the team are Plodders . Douehi would look great in a Tigers jersey he already looks good in a Souths jumper and the team is hot as ! Thompson has a go that’s for sure but not in the same class as AD ..

I'm not sure if i'd classify him as a gun fullback at this stage of his career, but he's bloody good. And that was just coming back from a bad ACL injury. He'll get better every week. By end of 2020 he could be a real gun.

No one doubts Corey's passion and enthusiasm. He has filled the fullback role quite well but wing is his best position. In fact I rate him our first selected winger. Douehi brings with him ball playing and physical presence which we have lacked as well as a long distance kicking game.

The point isn't that he's necessarily better than Doueihi, and I didn't say he was. I pointed out some positives in Thompson. People seem to refuse to see any positives in our current players. It's all just kicking the crap out of them and saying they offer absolutely nothing. It's a ridiculous grass is always greener mentality.

That's not true at all. I think Thomopson is a good winger but he's not a fullback, he was put there as a fill in and he did the best he could. Noone has ever questioned his heart or his commitment and he always gives 100%. If every player had the attitude he did we'd be a much better team.

But he's not a fullback. He has pace and is somewhat elusive but that's not enough to be a fullback in the modern game.

It's not surprising at all, Thompson is a good ball runner and puts in a lot of effort in support play. Doueihi has had a few very good games. Doueihi has plenty of skill and could develop into a good fullback, but he didn't offer a lot there last year until the end (accepting that he was coming back from injury). I think Doueihi at a reasonable price would be a decent play - not much potential downside but pretty high upside. I don't see him as a lay down misere improvement on Thompson in every respect that we must secure under any circumstances though...

I would have thought AD would have had him covered in linebreak and tackle break stats but Corey has him covered by a long way.
