We should only accommodate Douehi if the price is right and not make the mistake of paying overs

I really like AD as a player and he seems to be a sensible kid off the field as well but I am like some others And think he needs to do a little more to command top dollar.

In saying that, WT is not currently a club of choice and I believe we are going to pay overs to attract talent. Those overs should be capped at around 10%.

In AD’s case, I value him around 400K meaning we may need spend up to 440K to get him. Given he wants a four year deal, I would offer him 440K guaranteed with a review after 2 years provided he meets certain KPIs (@wokesmoke could perhaps give some examples) or gets rep selection.

The review is capped at 50% above his current contract but once executed and the review accepted, the club gets a years option in its favour.

This way AD gets his extended contract, is incentivised to do well and the club is protected from paying exorbitant amounts.

Anyway - just a thought

AD is seriously about to be a break out star.

What is it that Souths don't see that you see ? They are happy to let him walk.

They have a guy at fullback called Latrell Mitchell and their 6 is Cody Walker. Our fullback isn’t a fullback and our 6 is nearing retirement. Bit of a difference.

We have to applaud Madge. Souths want AD off their books. He simply isn’t going to play first grade. All clubs would expect them to at least contribute 100k for each year or they can have a 600k reserve grader

He wont play reggies, he will be their 14 and an excellent one.

I am a big Madge fan, but recruitment is his weakness.

Crowe and Richo recruited South stars.

Madge not budging so far has got us what? The weakest 1-5 in the comp. Not a single back added to last year's weak backline that lacked pace and strike, Fonua and Esan gone, Benji at 35 expected to play every week. No pace, no strike, no first string kicker.

Madge's rhetoric sounds nice, but reality is different.

Think we got a few good juniors and kept a few that were worth it

Oh gee Madge why can't you recruit as effectively as Russell Freaking Crowe?

Who is Madge rubbing shoulders with? Pascoe and the lady who sends out the Roar Store orders.

Does Madge invite potential signings up to his bustling rural property at Nana Glenfield, serve up a michelin star meal (michelin being the brand of tyres used by the uber eats driver), get a few brown paper bags organised by the lesser-known nephew of Kerry, Russell Packer.

So many people on here underestimate how good the kid is.

We are talking potential. And I'm not prepared to pay overs for potential. If the sky is the limit, why are Souths prepared to let him go ?

Everyone was gagging for us to sign Drinkwater. If he was so good why did Melbourne let him go?

When you have a surplus of talent in one area you don’t hang on to everyone. That’s the game.

We wont even be talking about Corey Thompson in 2 years.
He'll be another Mitch Brown who simply did a job for us because we didnt have the star player to lock a position down.
We dont love him, we don't hate him. He was merely a gap filler until we could get some one better.

Adam Douhei could be our fullback or #6 making the switch like Lockyer did for the next 7+ years.

This is clear as day.

Talau is our 5/8 and has a higher ceiling that AD.

Sweet then AD can just stay fullback. Easy.

NRL to make decision about Josh Reynolds being stood down or not before NRL 9s (SMH)

Its a business.
Managing a roster is part of the business.

Souths got Fatrell who they think will be Inglis 2.0

Why would they keep Douhei on 500k to play bench or ISC.

Thanks for being a logical poster in this strange time where fans think we're in a position to just disregard a player that has everything we could possibly want and need in a position we desperately have lacked in for years because he wants a relatively normal length contract.

Its not like hes asking 10m for 10 years like Tuamalolo.

JL is the busting centre we need and i would play Mmbye at fullback instead it will be Corey

And whos gonna play hooker?

We have issues.

And as always, the Lebanese can fix it for ya.

Douhei and Lichaa.
Lets go.

Demps there are 16 NRL clubs who don't rate Lichaa and it's with good cause.

O’Hagen was a star as a kid on the central coast but he never grew up. He’s only tiny. He’s a real smart footballer and has all the skills...if he was in 6 inches taller he’d be a star. He played with a mates kid and I saw him a few times. One of those real standouts and great to watch but like I said, midget.

Amazing. The club are idiots are for throwing big money at a representative 23 year old dual premiership winner, but are also idiots for not throwing big money at a 30 game rookie who can't score tries at fullback.

Sweet. If that’s the case, he can take a pay cut or reduced years to prove he’s the man.

He didn’t even make a 64 man emerging blues squad. Not worth 2m+ over 4 years

Moneyball.

Hed be no worse than Godinet or McKilla.
1 year deal wouldn't hurt.

Is he that bad you'd go into the year with no hooker instead of him?

Yep. I don't rate him, plenty of others don't either. More importantly, the NRL clubs don't rate him so that pretty much sums it up.

Yeah no teams rate liicha
Doubt teams would be lining up to sign mbye or Reynolds as their hooker also
He would solve a huge issue in our team
Pretty sure he was a junior kangaroo so he knows how to play
I can’t recall him being bad.
