He hasn't grown since then either.
Might be wrong but CC is his level

I agree.
Too small.

Try telling that to Alfie Langer or Tooves.

Edene gebbie MIGHT be a name you hear in coming weeks

Didn’t he only sign with Souths quite recently?

Not too sure but what’s it really matter these days anyway? He’s probably the best fullback and winger at the club. About to see how much they rate him I believe

What would our plans be for him? Short term wing, long term 1 (if the plan is for AD to take the 6).

I don't think you could play him on the wing - he's tiny and doesn't seem like he's got much tackling ability.

Haven't seen enough of him to assess his tackling ability but I can't recall him being overly short. Wiki says 6ft.

He is very fast. Not a great defender. His attack stats are outstanding in Intrust Cup.

JAC and Koirobete were thought of similarly in defence and look what that resulted in

Who doesn't remember this try and wish our wingers could score one like this? Just notice 187cm would be 6ft 1 inch or a bit and 87kg. A good size and note he was born at Sogeri. There used to be a great hotel, the Kokoda Track Hotel at Sogeri. After a couple of weeks in the bush, a shower, beer and something to eat were always a highlight.

Those 2 blokes were/are still pretty ordinary defenders though.

JAC did extraordinarily well in SOO when he had Mitchell and Walker inside of him. It was a nightmare night but he made many tackles our wingers couldn't due to his pace. This defence issue was the narrative raised time over at our club and look where both players are now and where we are with our wingers. Both were are great finishers from all over the park.

Great finishers yes.
Great defenders....nup. JAC lets as many in as he scores.

I cannot agree. You don't get to represent your country or be onside with Craig Bellamy unless your defence is in order.

JAC missed 17 tackles last season in 23 games (16 tries), was actually reasonably well down the list for wingers
Top try score Sivo missed 23 in 25 games (22 tries)

Our wingers misses: CT (22 games) 25 misses, DN (14) 21
Jennings (18), Momo (11) & Fonua (11) missed 13-16 each although don't know winger/centre split
About one a game for our guys, but one and a half for Nofo

Edene Gebbie
Looks to be quick off the mark and over 100 metres.
Also seems to be confident of his pace and isn't afraid to take the defence on, down the touchline.
May not be NRL standard atm but would be a great depth signing at the right price.
I'd love to see him in tiger's colours.

As for any juniors coming through, if we did sign Gebbie, it would seem we don’t think they have the talent. I think we should at least see how they fare in Jersey Flegg and CC first before rushing out and signing unproven players wily nily.

It's a sad fact but most young players don't work out however promising they look. They're also fairly cheap. The best approach is to load up with as much talent as you can reasonably get your hands on.

I think I may have spotted the problem!!

Thanks WT2K and Curly Tiger for your quick responses. Maybe we can leave spot 30 open for the young Parramatta prop and hope Parramatta release him as a June 2020 trade.

If Reynolds sacked or stood down will be more

How can we get cap relief if his court case is this year? If he gets off, he gets paid.

If the NRL stands him down should be able to get cap relief to replace him in the top 30. If he is sacked tigers aren’t obliged to pay him a thing even if found not guilty.

if the NRL stands him down on "no fault" and he is cleared he will get paid in full. how can we get cap relief, spend it on someone else and then double pay it when we pay Reynolds. I cant see how this can work and I cant see us getting cap relief for him if he is "Stood down".

I also cant see how we could sack him with the whole "innocent until proven guilty" thing.

Would expect that Wests Ashfield will stump up for any shortfall if paying for two, but also expect that he would have to be stood down for the season.

That is the first suggestion that I have seen that explains how it could work. If he is stood down it would HAVE to be for the full season for us to get any cap relief.

Nice stats mate, good job!

Wingers aren't noted for their defence but I was just countering some of the posters that were insinuating that JAC and Korobeite turned into great defenders once they left WT.

Ala Roosters. They don't care if they have a handful of Internationals playing reserve grade, as long as no-one else can have them.
They are like some greedy flog playing Monopoly.
Of course, not sure how "reasonable" their means of stockpiling such talent is.

All good @Fade-To-Black I agree most wingers aren't renowned defenders, was just bemoaning the fact that we let try scoring machines go for defensive frailties that are evident in most wingers, often also added to by sketchy centre defense inside them

Koirobete is still only 27 and hasn't been here for almost 6 years, imagine what he could have been for us

The addition of a player like gebbie if JAC cant be added would be good. Wing or fullback is fine. Tigers ranked 8th in the NRL for tries scored from inside their own half for 2020 (I was surprised they were ranked that high when I checked) so the addition of some pace would be very welcome.
