If Reynolds sacked or stood down will be more


How can we get cap relief if his court case is this year? If he gets off, he gets paid.

If the NRL stands him down should be able to get cap relief to replace him in the top 30. If he is sacked tigers aren’t obliged to pay him a thing even if found not guilty.


if the NRL stands him down on "no fault" and he is cleared he will get paid in full. how can we get cap relief, spend it on someone else and then double pay it when we pay Reynolds. I cant see how this can work and I cant see us getting cap relief for him if he is "Stood down".

I also cant see how we could sack him with the whole "innocent until proven guilty" thing.

Would expect that Wests Ashfield will stump up for any shortfall if paying for two, but also expect that he would have to be stood down for the season.

Another player that is under the radar atm in CC that i think should be a good watch this year with another pre season under Madge is Jock Madden

Edene gebbie MIGHT be a name you hear in coming weeks

Not sure what the point of signing him would be. In terms of wingers we now have Nofo, Jennings, Thompson and maybe Tommy but he would be wasted there - he should be one of the centres with BJ. For fullback we now have Douhei & Thommo. If we did sign him I doubt he'd replace any of these.

Hard to believe that either Thommo or Jennings could be sitting in CC for most of the season in any case. What a waste of money!

As for any juniors coming through, if we did sign Gebbie, it would seem we don't think they have the talent. I think we should at least see how they fare in Jersey Flegg and CC first before rushing out and signing unproven players wily nily.

He looks like he may have some X factor which our wingers maybe don’t

Maybe Panthers are still interested in Corey **or we are looking at it as part of a deal with Souths on a forward**

Lots of possibilities and if Madge & Co see something worthwhile I’m happy to go with that

Not too sure but what’s it really matter these days anyway? He’s probably the best fullback and winger at the club. About to see how much they rate him I believe

What would our plans be for him? Short term wing, long term 1 (if the plan is for AD to take the 6).

I don't think you could play him on the wing - he's tiny and doesn't seem like he's got much tackling ability.

Haven't seen enough of him to assess his tackling ability but I can't recall him being overly short. Wiki says 6ft.

He's listed as 187cm and 85kgs. That's not small.

Of course player bios can be manipulated, eg Elijah Taylor

Souths are overflowing with nrl standard backs and currently will have Allan, Goodwin and Gebbie in CC.

Gebbie while unproven at NRL level was dominant in QLD Cup and has a heap of potential. But as @Thaiger and @pawsandclaws1 have mentioned we have a lot of promising outside backs that deserve a shot in the coming season, or two.

Packer is a name I have heard thrown around. I guess he is the logical choice as he has at least five front rowers in front of him at this stage

It's a sad fact but most young players don't work out however promising they look. They're also fairly cheap. The best approach is to load up with as much talent as you can reasonably get your hands on.

Those 2 blokes were/are still pretty ordinary defenders though.

JAC did extraordinarily well in SOO when he had Mitchell and Walker inside of him. It was a nightmare night but he made many tackles our wingers couldn't due to his pace. This defence issue was the narrative raised time over at our club and look where both players are now and where we are with our wingers. Both were are great finishers from all over the park.

There is so much potential with the PNG players. Most play in barefoot still suffering from the ravages of malaria. I find it hard to drag myself out of the house with an attack but these boys play footy. They live for it but have had little exposure to top flight coaching. Therefore there will be significant improvement in them. With Maguire taking an interest, you can be this young fellow will be every bit as good as the Storm centre.
