Blocker has his failings, as do we all, but nobody can doubt his love of our club. He had a terrific record as a player and was one of the best front rowers to ever play the game. If Madge reckons he can help the team, good enough for me.

Blocker is one of the relics of the past and should stay there ... he has nothing to offer this club moving forward! Just jobs for the boys he’s been on the books before with no major outcome and has had his day in the sun . Yes a great Balmain player BALMAIN player of the past and that is where it should stay .
I just wish this club would leave the past where it belongs ...

Not just a great Balmain player Snake but also great rep player for NSW and Australia.
All speculative atm but trust that who ever Maguire brings on board it will be for good reason.

The game has changed so much since Blocker was the no1 prop in the game. Sure the bloke offers tons of enthusiasm but as for coaching, I don’t think he is the man for the job

Matt Johns is pretty respected as a halves coach. I remember he did a lot of work with Cronk.

He did....and i think he is the “right” brother to have

Would rather Matty also. You wouldn't let Joey anywhere near your club if you were in a hiring position. He's a ? role model and can't believe he's an immortal after his off field antics.

Matt Johns has some skeletons in the closet as well.

I think Dels right about us having to pay overs but after this year we Become more competitive in the player market. I liked the Freudian slip there from old Del 😂 BJ best centre in the game. On his day he is IMO.

Seriously Blocker loves the club but he can’t coach - he has had many many years as forward coach / mentor over the years.

We need to move away from the love for legends and actually have the best coaches that will make a difference. We need week in week out dedication who will focus on game review/strength/weakness areas & know how to improve the players.

Sure let Blocker in at LO and bring Tommy in at CS for a motivation rev up speech but keep them away from the coaching please - we can do alot better.

This. Anyone talking up his analytical abilities only needs to
listen to him on commentary. I once heard him ask if a player going off with a neck injury constitutes a HIA because “your neck is apart of your head isn’t it”.
