What about looking at Burton
He is the kind of player who could Take the pressure of Brooks IMO

Gus’ warning to Panthers over playmaking dilemma after ‘special’ rookie emerges

Phil Gould says Matt Burton is a special talent.Source: AAP

Former Panthers boss Phil Gould has warned Penrith could risk losing star rookie Matt Burton if they persist with plans to partner Jarome Luai with Nathan Cleary

You won’t want to rely on him to kick you a field goal.

If that's his only downfall I'll take him
You don't sign a half based on whether he can kick a field goal or not
But you already know that
Although he is a half he reminds me a bit of Cookie the way he runs
That can't do us any harm

Sydney Morning Herald reporting that we are keeping a close eye on De Belin, if he’s found innocent they’re willing to sign him on decent money.

It’s a big risk in my eyes he hasn’t played in a while and is almost 30 however before he was suspended he was an origin level player.

Has to be a wind up...?

I would walk away if we signed DeBelin.

If he’s found innocent why would you? It’s the exact same as the Reynolds situation if that happens

Very different cases.

It is not for us to comment here, but they are very, very different cases.

Why wouldn’t he stay with saints?

This could put saints under pressure financially
DeBelins next contract won't be as much as now but the more pressure we apply the more they pay
If they pay to much then that may free up a player like Saab

Saw 360, bearing in mind with the exception of Ikin, they're all hacks and rumor mongers, but Dufty, from the Dragons, definitely speed to burn a legitimate attacking fullback who can create, cheap and on the receiving end of unjust treatment. Could be the answer to our back line, what do you blokes think.

Nooooo thanks - Happy with Douehi at fullback

No no no no no no and no

Would love to see Tigers target either Matt Burton or Tex Hoy.
Burton is a great game manager (what Brooks lacks) who may not have a clear passage to first grade depending on how that situation is managed with Cleary returning this week and Tyrone May in the next while. Personally, if I were panthers I’d be shopping Luai and looking to lock up Burton but he was second fiddle to start the season before Cleary stuffed up.
Hoy sounds great. Haven’t seen a whole lot so can’t offer much insight, but he is in a similar situation at Newcastle. Pathway blocked and potential to swoop in

Absolutely the worst move we could make - another Jennings.

I would like the club to sign anyone that can actually play .Watching the so called NRL players running around at the club is getting a bit tiresome.

Problem is good players don’t join weak clubs that often unless it’s for massive money, and all our money is being spent on duds. So we either need to free up some cash (which Madge is trying to do) or we need to succeed with some young talented guys (also what Madge is trying to do).

Hell no, he's a midget who can't tackle. May as well play with 12 blokes in defence.

Here’s an article about Madge being reluctant to release Thompson. I’m assuming he wants a replacement in before doing it but I can’t read the full thing if anyone wants to post

Read the reply before seeing who posted in. Was thinking it's definitely @Russell ?

Dufty? Good god no, Doueihi looks excellent so far at fullback.

Fair enough we want a replacement before we release Thompson though. Saints not beimg able to afford to release Mary may yet give us a shot at Saab. Still seems highly unlikely

That's better then the 6 we currently have defending

If he’s found innocent it’s the exact same - accused of something he didn’t do, he would be a free man whos a very good footballer

Yeah, but there is a huge divide between being found not guilty and found innocent. If the presiding judge finds and spells out in their judgment that it was an unfounded fabrication, or instructs a jury similarly, then fine, It should be readily accepted.
