Bulldogs apparently looking to sign Cotric we would be stupid to not try sign him

He is a good player but he is NSW country through and through from Cooma. He won't leave so we need to devote our resources to realistic targets.

He actually has family in Sydney and he also has his car at a performance place in Western Sydney currently getting work done.

That is interesting about his car, I live in Sydney and take my rotary Mazda to. a rotary specialist in Fyswick.

That's just you coming home with a tuned rotary and a boot full of fireworks and porno.

No, you can't buy fireworks anymore without a pyros ticket...

Keep an eye on Cade Cust this afternoon. He's on Tigers radar.

Srsly what sort of name is Cade Cust? Custard

Not as good as Hep Cahill, Steele Retchless or Royston Lightning.

Reports out today that benjis manager is looking around to see if any other clubs want him for the rest of the season. Apparently they’ve made the club aware but it would be up to the club whether to release him or not.

It's a win for the Club that we are providing a first grade berth for a fine young player whom would otherwise be playing in the QLD State league. Our brand is being associated with something positive. This is groundbreaking and when he returns to the Storm, other clubs and young players in similar situations may have the confidence to approach the Club with a similar deal.

It's a great thing for Harry and the club atm and hopefully it stays positive thing for both parties. My only concern if other players showed interest would be other clubs using us as a feeder club to prep their junior talent, watch them either blossom or fade in the NRL under our jersey and us hand them back when the deals done. We want to eventually put ourselves into a position of having more "like Harry" and them actually being signed under contract to us. However, I'm loving watching Harry play for us atm.

Would be a terrible idea to release him. He’d be one of the best back up halves in the comp and Reynolds hasn’t made it through a season healthy in years. We’re going to need him at some point.

Tough one for Benji. Id imagine he's sure he will retire at seasons end now with Josh taking his spot. Would be nice to see him playing Nrl before retirement. Probably best to look around other clubs

How are the Auckland Blues shaping up at the moment?

Good post. While we're in the mood for Illawarra players, it would be useful for Joey and Luciano to have a chat to the Feagsi brothers. Both are ver useful players.

Yeah Reynolds could go down at any moment and if grant goes down it’ll be Walters filling in at hooker so we need to hold onto Benji

:::

the only guys we have of any interest to storm would be Nofo as he could replace JAC
He had a blinder last night but we cant offer up average player for Grant the deal would not go through. Nofo and Brooks would be the only two worth considering for Bellamy and Grant would be a priority.

Nofo has veen killing it since the Gold coast game and i dont want to jinx the guy but defensively he might have turned the corner.
i love Brooks too however i think Grant is absolutely essential and storm will need a winger for JAC move next year and we could keep Grant if Nofo or Brooks were traded.

Suggestion......

I understand Harry Grant is under contract next year for Melbourne but we need to do everything in our power to at least have him the 2022 season! The coaching instability and incoming turnover of players may tempt Harry Grant away from the storm, and he already knows his style of play fits perfectly with Madge as he’s literally coming second in Daily M points as a rookie

Throw him all of Reynolds contract for 4 years

800k on a 4 year deal offer that in November, if he commits I doubt Melbourne would want him for 2021 knowing it’ll then sacrifice them losing Brandon Smith also which they would want to avoid

Hands down the best prospect right now in the NRL imo, easily has the ability to captain this club for the next decade - you can tell Madge knows this, and definitely fits the mould of a player you wanna build the club and culture around!

Grant is contracted to Melbourne for 2021 and 2022 seasons..no approach can be officially made until Nov 2021 with a view to signing him from 2023 on wards unless he was given permission by the Storm to do so...by then he will be 25 and probably commanding upwards of 1m+ should his development continue on the upward trajectory..

Haha.....hardly surprising. If this is the case, it's not showing him in a very good light. Where's the love for the club gone? We've been here before have we not? Possibly a rubbish rumour, but you have to wonder.

While Reynolds is holding together at the moment (of which I am thrilled for him as the guy has had a horror couple of years on and off the pitch and while he has mistakes in his game I think he and Brooks gel well together,) he is getting older and you'd have to assume he's still prone to get injured again it would be nuts to let a seasoned veteran like Benji walk.

He has been in and out of Reserve Grade the last three years. Great player he was, and always will be, after this year if he wants to run around again, I think it's ESL at best.

Harry Grant is a marketer"s dream. A junior who can't get a start because Cam wants to play on. He lifts the WTs and his own standing to the point of being the next QLD SOO hooker. Sorry Ben loyalty only goes so far.

Added to this, with those boyish good looks he can captivate a particular audience so he will have an army of admirers.

If he chooses to leave covid central and stay in Sydney, you can almost feel a wonderful penthouse apartment in an exclusive Rose Bay waterfront boutique development can be had very reasonably. If that is the case, young Harry better keep his sugar stocks up!

Benji Marshall has no intention of quitting WT and is privately filthy at suggestions that he is on the hunt to find another NRL club this year (Daily Telegraph)

Relevant to this, it all comes down to Cam Smith anyway.

Lots of scenarios can play out:

My view is if Melbourne don't win the comp this year, he'll go around again for Bellamy's last year as coach and we can snag Harry due to the clause in his contract.

If Smith retires, Harry may decide he doesn't want to share the hooking role and wants to play 80 mins week in week out. He may ask Melbourne for a release and we get him.

Brandon Smith may play lock to make way for Grant and we lose him.

There might be a trade deal involving Momorovski and other players on our roster (Simpkin?).

The most important thing is making the bloody finals. Unless we make the finals, I can't see Harry wanting to stick around to be honest.

Second to that is recruitment. If we can pull off some wins in that area, and make the 8, then we'll be in with a shot.

Despite the above, we need to remember...Melbourne would have released him immediately if their intention was to let him go at some stage. The reality is, they "loaned" him to us so he could get first grade experience. Every week he kills it for us is another reason the Storm are going to want him back, so we need to expect that there is an 85% chance he'll go back to the Storm at seasons end.

The flip side is the Storm may open contract negotiations early to work out how much Harry will cost them. If it's not going to fit into the 2022 cap, then they may just release him.

Put it this way, we'd need to throw a lot of cash at him one way or the other. Storm have a huge amount of players off contract in the next couple of years including C Smith, so they'll have cap space for him, but what will B Smith command?

Can you really have 2 big money hookers sharing the role?
Will B Smith devalue himself by playing out of position to make way for Grant to get more money?
If the Storm are forced to make a choice, will they go for Harry, a player that has been in a totally different team, or B Smith that has the benefit of a full season under the Storm structure?
....there's lots more to play out yet.
