I know Dean Pay would not agree with me but I would look at Lewis from the Dogs Great defence and good gold kicker. Learning his trade at the moment but great potential.

I'm warming to this idea. Dogs are cashed up and on the hunt for a halfback. Prepared to pay overs, so lets trade Brooks for Lewis and the dogs can pay the difference.

Lewis is defensively on par, superior kicking game & he looks to be calm out there with good communication skills.

Seriously, has anyone ever dropped a Brooks bomb? It's like his intention is to make it as easy as possible for the FB to catch. Not to mention his severe low energy personality, that if he walked into a doggy day care, all the pups would go straight to sleep.

You couldn't make this stuff up.

His own coach said Lewis needed more composure and game management on Ch9. Unconvincingly he said it will come with experience .

Lewis !!- how could anyone who watches the game even consider him.

Not writing 2020 off by any stretch, but with the additions of Blore, Stefano and Kepaoa, next seasons lineup has some size about it:

1 Doueihi
2 Kepaoa
3 Joey Leilua
4 Talau/ Mbye
5 Nofo
6 Reynolds
7 Brooks
8 Aloiai
9 Liddle
10 Packer
11 Leilua
12 Garner
13 Twal
14 Blore
15 Stefano
16 Mikaele
17 Musgrove

You're forgetting Eisenhuth. He's been mighty.

Hey tigerballs, do you have any updates to share in terms of inside info ?

As above, I heard Cust was still a chance but Russell seems to have heard otherwise. I had my hopes up for him. That big kid from the Cowboys is still in talks but I think his family might be holding things up. We're looking at a few options for the halves, including even Jackson Hastings, that's the main focus for now and I think it's common knowledge we've spoken to a few younger guys at Penrith. Apparently the Panthers have spent their cap and one ex football operations manager from there is very interested in poaching a few young guns to represent.

David Fifita has told team mates he’s going to Titans next year according to channel 7

He’s on huge money but it’s good for titans I think. They have made some good signings and look like they have begun heading in the right direction. Still a long way off being a finals team but with Fifita and Tino they will look a lot better next year

Enormous for the Titans if correct.

Also would be a massive loss for the Broncs...of all their young crop he was the one you absolutely had to keep. You could build around him and Haas for a decade. They should have let Lodge and TPJ go instead of matching huge offers IMO.

It’s a signing titans really needed. Also means Broncos have a better chance of hanging onto some of their young guys with more $ freed up. Seibold is running that club into the ground though

He’s an absolute joke. If the Broncs are too stingy to pay him out, the least they can do is start a Go Fund Me.

I don't like the talk of Benji being shipped around. Surely the best thing for all concerned is for him to fish his career as a Tiger.

Reynolds is going well at the moment but who knows what could happen over the course of the season.

If genuine we should refuse that release every day of the week. Reynolds hasn't put together an uninjured season in a long time. I think Benji will still be needed this season.

Its genuine i have a mate that is a players agent and he does not talk BS.

All player agents would be full of BS it would be safe to say.
Benji would get a gig at 3 or 4 teams if he was really keen to get a game at another club.

Well let's see what transpires, just giving other forum members a heads up, comments like yours ensure i should not share reliable information in future.

Most people here like rumours even if they turn out to be false, but it's a losing game if you get thin-skinned if people doubt you.

Well i can state that my rumor of Fifta going to the Titans was correct and called it 23 plus days ago, so to those members that gave me a hard time, proof is in the signing. i doubt i will give any more in future from my mate a players agent in the NRL mainly because it dud not like the feedback given.

Mate if you have a rumour than post it. Surely you have a thicker skin than that. Also you’re not the only person with contacts in the NRL and you won’t be the first to get a rumour right or wrong for that matter. It’s a dynamic workplace with shifting sands and most people understand what is correct today, may not be tomorrow. Just keep the goss coming, that’s the whole purpose of this thread.

**so is the purpose of the thread to also have other forum members give you crap when you have a source and share it?**
I gave another rumor tonight tonight that is factual lets see what happens with that one as well. cheers.

Well my answer to that is no. However, i'm not a moderator, so what does and does not get posted is way out of my control.
Having said that for every person that takes the mickey out of what you post there are probably 10 or more who appreciated what you have divulged.
Further to that, i'm not sure how long you have been on here, but if you have been a "lurker" so to speak, then you would realise from time to time there have been some real ................trying to think of an appropriate word here......"tossers" ( that will have to do) that lie through their teeth and therefore make people somewhat skeptical when others post their info.
As for your rumour on Mbye, i believe you, i believe that could happen. I also believe it may not due to whatever circumstances, doesn't mean you weren't right today. Its a forum on an internet. This place at times requires a thick skin, especially after a loss. Hopefully yours is thick enough to stick around and post the rumours you have. :+1:

Very interesting, who from Penrith are they targeting. I’m hoping one of them is Daine Laurie cause he’s going to be a weapon in first grade when given the chance.

We definitely need some more halves at the club for the future. Hopefully next years development players include a halfback and 5/8. If Cust hasn’t been announced with manly then he’s still a chance

I think Blake Green is the guy we need, has the experience and good kicking game, didn't realise he was on so much at the warriors, hopefully he would be willing to take a paycut

Good god no. He is not what we need whatsoever.

You panned me for this suggestion as well willow.

What's wrong with having a guy like Blake Green as a replacement for say Reynolds if we could get him for $200-$250k?

You wouldn't start him, but he offers you good depth given the lack of halves around.

He'd just be there to plug a hole in case of injuries.

One, I doubt we'd get him for that price and secondly we have Madden coming through along with a junior Australian schoolboy 6 we poached from the Eels.

It is hard to balance a salary cap if you have two halves on a million each.
The solution is to have two good all rounder type halves
OR an absolute gun 7 and a big running 5/8, basically a 2nd rower with some ball skills
OR an absolute gun 5/8 and a controlling 7, who does not have all the skills of a normal half but has a good kicking game.

Not every team needs or wants a controlling half. Chad Townsend and Shaun Johnson are a good combo on paper, but if Johnson has a bad game or is heavily targeted, the Sharks are very likely to lose.

Maybe. Let’s see how they respond tomoz... I’m slightly keen for Lewis to have a blinder to back up my theory.

All I want is a halfback that can throw a spiral pass and not kick it into the defenders legs near the goal-line...
Heck I’d take Liddle at 7 then Simpkin at 9 over what we put out there each week(Slim to no chance that would happen anyway)
