Cust I rate, Sezer and Lewis not so much. I have seen nothing in Maddens game in CC to suggest he is the future of the club.

Manly apparently see Schuster as a future 5/8 so Cust would need to work out where he is fitting in before committing long term.

We need 2nd Rowers, a fullback and outside backs. A great half would also be handy but not much point in committing to a half like those listed above, they are not much better than what we have.

Our signings should either be younger players with a lot of upside or marquee players. No more proven average first graders like McQueen, Mbye, Reynolds, Jennings etc. They are killing our cap and contributing little.

Schuster is a gun player he will have a good career I think. Seems like Madge is being smart and going for young guys or elite guys, none of these almost retired guys.

Probably only need one second rower for next year just as depth, Blore and Garner can share the role, MCK as one depth and hopefully another young guy as the other, possibly that young cowboys fella we are apparently talking to.

I like MCK as a player, but he does not have the skill set or size to be a regular bench player for us. We need size and aggression off the bench and Blore's debut proved that. If we keep having players the calibre of McQueen and MCK on the bench, we will continue to fight for 8th place.

Next year MCK is hopefully just injury cover. Leilua, Garner and Blore to be our main second rowers

In terms of halves, there is no rush given we have Reynolds, Brooks, Mbye, Walters, and Madden contracted next year. Possibly Benji as well. It would be a waste of salary cap to sign another one. Even Talau played his juniors at 5/8.

None of the off contract halves are any better than what we already have. Every time I've seen Madden play I've been impressed, not so much by his defence though.

I'd wait until next year to sign a half when Burton, Luai, Keary are all off contract.

It’s hard for the half’s to stand out if our engine room keeps getting bent backwards in attack … once our engine room start taking forward steps and get over the advantage line … then your half’s will shine … !!

We have very talented halves in our 20s plus Madden. Either way, bring Laurie Daley in to mentor them. Gould previously spoke about a halves school due to the lack of quality. We have some but we need to accelerate their development.

Bullemor was only a loan deal. CHN replaces Bateman, James probably replaces Soliola. If anything they need outside backs pretty badly

I think Garner should be viewed as a bench player with potential. While he runs a good line and is dangerous in attack, his workrate and defence are not top level.
