I think the best option we have is try and get Meaney from the dogs , he is a good goal kicker and can play fullback and wing . The dogs have heaps of backs so maybe they will need to off load someone .

Wanted him instead of Mbye in the first place.

The hard truth is , yes we need to get young talent in but we need the hard nuts to show them the way . And our club just does not go after these players , e.g. Klemmer type , we need mongrel up front and in the centres till then we will never play finals .

I consider myself fairly patient but waiting for top juniors to magically appear is beyond that.

Need a titans approach. Offer 700k to land JAC, he’s not worth more than 500k but we need some rep quality players with a winning culture and he’s the only one available.

The titans didn’t just throw paint against the wall.
As I said in another post, they planned their whole recruitment strategy to make It more comfortable for Fifta to change clubs.
The extra money was got them over the line but having Brimson, Boyd, Fotuaika, whom he played his juniors with and recruiting Tino and EseEse beforehand was all about softening the cushions on the lounge chair.

We on the other hand.
Went aggressively for Latrell Mitchell to be a similar type signing, offering similar type money.
But he was hoping to try a new position at fullback and to go to a club as a marquee that is improving but in no means a contender, to play alongside a current backline of Thompson, Mbye, Nofa, and ? (Released Masters).

You compare that to the Rabbitohs approach whose best backline is probably.

Can't be certain it was the direct reason, though an obvious tie in, as they had no cap space to sign him prior to moving Mbye on.

We are the complete opposite of Melbourne.

Tedesco was good with us, but is the best player in the world in another team. He couldn’t even get us in the top 8.

I reckon he was just as good if not better with us. He was and is a great player. Unfortunately he doesn't have the right character to build around. Same as Woods.

Wouldn't take Hastings for a bet - the guy is a scumbag.

Sezer on short term (1 year maybe 2 at the most).

OR Forun, obviously short term.

There is no one else with the brainpower on the market, this year or next unless we are able to break contracts.

Sezer also solves a GK problem. Next year, Marshall, Reynolds and Walters are not the answer.

Well if we are fair dinkum about him, he is a left footer so he will play on the left.
Since we’ve bought Madden and I’ve seen him play I just don’t see him playing alongside Brooks.
The fact is if he does a better job than Brooks does at Halfback, you replace him.
The question is pose for you is,
Who do you foil Camroux with?
Will Madden and him be a good combination? Or does the club sign an experienced half to play alongside.
Noticed he also played fullback.
Probably would be a more speedier option than Doueihi and Doueihi could play five eight on the left.

Our issue is with forwards. You could have Sterling and Kenny playing last night and there would be not much difference.

It’s not hard there are a few around Isaako for one kicks over 80 % there are options maybe a fan favourite needs to take one for the team !

I don't know where to put this so I'll plonk it here.
I watched an interesting video the other day wherein a special forces psychologist was interviewed about skills and character.
I looked for it again to post but couldn't find it.
In brief he said you can train as much as you like and build your skill set to try to account for any predicted eventuality, but at some point you will encounter a situation that you haven't envisioned. That is when character makes the difference. When you are pushed beyond what you have trained for and can still stand up and look for opportunities to change your situation.
You can teach skills but you can't teach character.
Those are the kind of players who WT needs to look for.

These guys have encountered this situation over and over again and failed miserably!
God it’s a Groundhog Day for us fans mate.

Raid ESL and get Sezer and Rhyse Martin back for next year- accurate goal kicking work horse back rower and a pretty good halfback capable of kicking goals too. Would give us coverage for a couple of years whilst the younguns develop a bit more. We could even try to do a swap deal with Sezer and Brooks and see if a season or two in ESL helps him develop his game.

Edit- Could also look at a former WT player that has matured over in ESL as a halfback- Jacob Miller.

How is Hastings a scumbag, do know him personally?...What because he ruffled Daly Cherry-Evans feathers at Manly?...Daly has made a reputation himself for not having the most likeable of personalities just ask his own team mates past and present...So, I think you’ll find Hastings was the scapegoat on that one...

From all accounts Hastings has done a complete 360 whilst over in England, has held himself accountable and taken ownership of his personal issues and is evolving into the talented player the Roosters originally obtained him for.

I personally think he would be a great acquisition to the Weststigers.

Since we’ve bought Madden and I’ve seen him play I just don’t see him playing alongside Brooks.
The fact is if he does a better job than Brooks does at Halfback, you replace him.

Does anyone know who the fullback he sets up in the first few clips is? Moves exactly like Papenhuyzen, it’s not his brother is it?

Likely to be Flynn angles - Cork or Rizk. Weren't too many clips featuring a fullback though.

The covid19 shut down is really killing us. We are relying on our young talent coming through and had established a good crop for the first time in years. Having the Nswrl panicking into shutting the comp down immediately means the players who should be pushing for first grade spots next season aren't. And will likely have to wait an extra year before getting their chance.

Other clubs have established first graders or have had decentralised youngsters coming through for a while. We have been had neither and really needed to see which youngsters stood up this season
