Signing Foran would be a deadset disaster
He’s one injury away from a nursing home ..
We ain’t that desperate.

Foran isn't going to help us win a premiership or get us closer to the 8. He's been playing in a similar team to us with the dogs and hasn't been able to get them close. Forget him and let's look abit harder.

I understand the concerns with foran but he’s by far the best half available right now and imo we’d be a much better team with him in it. We know our current halves aren’t good enough so do we take the risk of signing someone like foran or do we not sign anyone and resign ourself to not making the 8 for 2021 too?

One man isn’t going to pull the dogs out of last place. Their entire team is dreadful but he’s been good for them. He would be the best option for
A Half around unless they sign some wonder kid no ones heard of from reserve grade who instantly starts killing it

given his last contract, I doubt Foran will be chasing money. you'd have to think Newcastle would be the frontrunner, but I know injury free I'd definitely have him here.

Alex McKinnon (knights recruitment manager) said on Twitter they are definitely not signing him

That means they probably are. 1984 speak.

Sorry but Foran and his long list of injuries and age is not worth the gamble. Haven't we learnt from Ballin and Jason Cayless poor signings. Reece Martin would be a good signing and a goal kicker. I prefer to take a gamble with Hastings as well.

The amount you pay for him would allow the purchase of a young x factor player the calibre of Ponga. We need to target an outstanding talent such as the young NZ player all clubs were chasing when 16 who is now at the Roosters.

We have done a great job of signing young talent already but we need tough experience players to bring them on and show how to handles the bad times... Clearly the ones we currently have don't know how to do it so need a change.
1st action would be to get another captain that can be an on field captain and not a by stander

As someone mentioned earlier, we need to shed some halves before looking at more of them. Someone like Madden can't get a look in because he's never going to be picked ahead of Brooks, Marshall or Reynolds.

If Marshall retires and Reynolds finds another club sure, but not until then. I don't know why we signed Walters, we still have Doeuihi, Mbye, Talau, Madden who are all halves.

This is spot on......... Lets hope something happens..

For some reason I think Madge is going to tap a few of his players on the shoulder near the end of the season so they can say goodbye but only if he can recruit some replacement...

Fair call. But there's no way we can offload Mbye at full cost. Do we offer him to another club and foot half the bill, around $400k? Who's our captain otherwise? Not Marshall, not Brooks. Aloiai is smart enough imo.

The reality is that next season will be more of the same. We'll be able to throw the money around for 2022 w/ Mbye, Reynolds, Packer all off the books. It's then we'll start complementing a promising forward pack with a damaging backline.

Did Maguire assist with the names?

No one is going to take Mbye unfortunately due to his salary but if he was on 500k and was not captain I would not have a problem with him been in the team somewhere (that's not going to change - I know) . Maybe 14 and can cover a lot of positions.
Captain is another question that I really don't have a answer for but I do know Mbye is NOT a on field capt at all.
Depends on if we sign someone experienced or not but something needs to change.

He would know but cannot say anything yet while we are a slight chance to make the finals..

Was Walters signed before Dirty Harry? Might be wrong but I thought he was?

Don't think we thought we were going to have the loan approved and so signed Walters as a cover just in case.

That's my recall anyway.

I don't want us to play finals if we just scrap through in eight spot only to be thrashed in the first game. We need to thrash lower ranked teams and beat most top sides regularly. Investing in quality youth like Penrith have done appears our best Avenue for future success.

Exactly, do we let Benji have his wish and play again next year, and guide us to another bottom 8 finish. I say you have to be kidding, stop doing the same thing over and over hoping he becomes a game manager and leader, he is neither, and at 36 will be even worse next year

Marshall guide our side to top 8 this season then you can play in 2021. Miss the top 8 retire Champ with your 2005 premiership ring and one of our greats.

Hard to argue with any of that, our senior players are cooked, we have no leaders and over payed for what we have, time to move on a stack of players, not easy with some of their deals, but others can be finished up

Honestly, don't you reckon Foran owes the Dogs a good low-priced year after playing bugger-all matches on a rich contract?
