Twal is signed till the end of 2022 as is Joey Luciano Garner and Mbye..

Brooks Doueihi and Kepaoa end 2023..

Then 2024 will be our year with zero contracted players..

Is that the year we relocate to Perth......

He’s better than all our second rowers bar Leilua. Garner has some games where he’s better and some where he’s worse.

I don’t see any other better options for a second rower and we still need one particularly an experienced one.

For cheap and on a two year deal what harm is there in signing him? Just because he’s not gonna score 10 tries a season and run people over doesn’t mean he’s bad

I don't think he'll come on the cheap, he's another veteran who would ask for overs to come and play for us and live in Sydney - you need to recognise that. I have a real problem with that as it has never worked for us in the past and at his age I really don't think he's the answer to our problems. He's not going to win us a game.

Considering after this weekend all our remaining 2020 home games will be at Bankwest this year, people might be calling for it.
Relocation will never happen.

Eisenhuth gone huh. That's disappointing. He's finally kicked on in his 4th year with us. Seems a waste to invest so much time in his development only for another club to reap the rewards. I think he'll do well wherever he ends up.

Club wants to retain him but has been asked to be patient while roster is turned over a little bit understand that if something comes along from another club that he needs to look after himself.

Sorry for all the questions, what’s the club doing player retention wise? Obviously it’s hard with next year being uncertain of squad sizes but surely they are at least in early discussion with some guys who are free to talk to other clubs come November

Only 2 players off contract in 2021 have had extensions discussed (Aloiai & Twal) but early days.

I thought Twal was off contract end of 2022.

2022 is a player option, can technically become free agent from November 1 this year if not activated prior.

Not sure why the club announces it till 2022 then.

Will happily clarify, might stand corrected on this.

https://www.weststigers.com.au/news/2019/11/19/wests-tigers-re-sign-alex-twal/

Wests Tigers are pleased to announce that forward Alex Twal has signed a new playing contract with the club.

The new, two-year deal will see Twal remain with Wests Tigers until the end of the 2022 season.

Signed to end 2022 according to official release

Apologies, must have wires crossed on this one.

No need for apologies

Wonder if @THE_POM knows whether or not we have been sniffing around Penrith at all? Wouldn’t mind poaching some of their juniors, especially Burton

Not for the $$ being offered to him. Unless Packer is moved on, big money in the forward pack not on the cards

Yeah I honestly can’t see why we are chasing this guy. He is such a ‘vanilla’ player.

I do believe that for once we have a coach/recruitment committee that is determined to construct a team based on fair value. It would be hoped that Proctor could be signed = or < then his current contract based on a number of factors.
He is the Titans current captain and has expressed his desire to stay on. At this stage there is no contract and possibly no spot in the side for him.
Titans have other priorities, aforementioned 2021 recruits plus discussing the potential of signing Cam Smith.
Opportunity, considering a challenge to secure a starting backrow position, Proctor has a certain opportunity of playing right back row for next 2 years. Garner first choice cover.
Challenge, motivated by ensuring he out competes young backrowers Garner, McIntrye and Blore.
Kiwi Connection. Madge and Benji and our Samoan pack.
It might be optimistic but Madge will certainly have a take it or leave it approach with an offer for Proctor and for him with no current interest from other clubs he may just accept it.
