Every coach needs to be given time to set their own culture and spin on the club to many are in and out in 2 or less years. Never going to get sustainable change in that time

I guess in this case.
Justin didn’t apply for the Titans job trying to get a big pay day and long term security.

But still a big call to extend him so early. Unless he was off contract from November.

lol I missed that, but fair enough considering we took both MBye and Reynolds off them. A bit delayed though, we signed them up a while ago.

It’s not the worst decision.
Next year is a longer season and it will probably commence later as well.
By mid next year Blake Green will be back. In the meantime they’ll have a near halves coach that can assist Barrett out.
If he rehabs ok you can sound him out for a further couple of years.

I suggested something similar for us.
But a 36 year old with a working ACL on a close to min wage is better for us if he wants to play on I guess.

I think Pom said the club hadn't entertained the thought of Foran iirc, and the more I think about it the more unsure I become. yes he's a quality player, but he's getting older, struggled with injuries and personal demons in his career and his defence isn't what it once was. not to mention wanting security and a reasonable contract, we might be better moving Doueihi to 6 or chasing a Burton or a Hastings.

Foran was only really good when he played at Manly, showed glimpses of form at Parra before he went downhill mentally. The physical side of him has packed it in since his return and he’s never been the same player since. Bulldogs have got no value out of him really, much like us with Reynolds. I’m with you it would be a bad move to sign him at this stage of his career.

Either Burton or Hastings would be a good pick up. I would love to see Hastings come back and flatten DCE when we next play Manly, be worth signing him for that alone 😂

Imagine another off season like the LM will he / wont he come. Awesome.

I think the club needs to assess if they want JAC and if we can afford him first.

Then Give him a deadline as the club does not need to go through the LM saga again as its a terrible look for the club and any future recruitment. If it ended like the LM one did we would be the joke of the NRL and the fans. He either wants to come or he doesn't

A deadline mightn't work in this situation as their is another club involved.

What a shame.... This is going to be the LM case again and its not going to end well for our club.. I am sooo over bigger clubs sitting back and getting players to hold out until they are ready to scam the system. This will be a PR nightmare

Don't blame the clubs or the players. They don't want to come here because they know they won't be playing finals football if they do. If I was a great player I wouldn't sign with us, would you?

If a great player is not willing to put the work in on and off the field for us then we dont want them
Do these great players go to stronger clubs so they can rely on the other players to carry them
Man this is frustrating to see
What ever happened to helping the underdog
These players just stand back and watch clubs like ours get bullied on and off the field and not one of them seems to be willing to step in and help

We all have the same cap apparently but the Nrl stands back and still watches
I will say it again
If we (Tigers) value Josh Addo-Carr at $600,000 as that is what we offer, then that should be his market value
If he leaves Melbourne then that is his current value
So Souths should no way in hell be allowed to sign him on there cap for anything less
Sure pay him $400,000 if you can but as his value is $600,000 on the open market then that is what comes off your cap
That is the only way you get equality across the league
And 3rd party deals should not even come into the equation as they can not be organised by the club
A 3rd party should sponsor a player regardless of what club he is at
This Addo-Carr thing is starting to stink

He’s been fine this season and playing good footy. He’s a risk but when our halves are so bad a cheap risk is probably worth it. If the roster gets cut down to 28 then probably pass on him

I think we should make a big play for Burton.....kid is a gun

I'd say he's a pretty big chance of following Barrett to the dogs, but we'd be stupid not to have a crack at him.

I think I read somewhere he had to sign a no poaching clause or something like that.
