Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Would people be happy with Gagai if we miss out on Jac? Usually if we miss out on a player we sign who the other club has to let go. That's if south's sign him

Hard no.

JAC's management want $800K. Tigers presumably offering $550 - $600K.

Middle ground $650 - $700K.

Considering Souffs are purportedly paying Gagai $700K & Doggo's are burning the same amount on DWZ, then something around $700K would be deemed fair value. Doubt his management would accept anything less.

So just to clear the JAC situation up a little.

I got an email from the club to confirm Tigers are interested in JAC but not as a Fullback and only a winger and wingers price not FB price. They are not prepared to over pay and won't get involved in a circus with other clubs and media.

Just thought I would pass on as its good to hear and we don't want anther LM situation.

Sounds good. Anything more than $600k at the max would be overs.

Wonder if that means they’re after Staines as well, media seems to think so. Add in JAC, Staines and a decent forward and it’s an improved team, still needs a lot of work and guys to be moved on but it’s a step in the right direction for sure

Considering we don't have a lot of money Staines would be the best fit for our team. Fingers crossed but I was glad to hear the update.

Staines and Burton would be good, they might like to stay together

Burton might not get a run with Benji playing on.

For the love of god no, Benji cranks on about being the backup, but he never is

Sorry 851 I couldn’t help myself.

Someone had to say it and I have a sense of humour, at least it is coming from a forum member with the same view as me on the Benji to retire topic, I honestly didn't think there would be 2 sides on this topic

I think with the way Benji is going, everyone is beginning to be on the same page on his future or our preferred Benji future.

The club is notorious for making bad recruitment decisions, this has all the hallmarks of being another, the forum should be consulted on this, what do you reckon:grin:

Just like the bunker needs a committee to decide on captain's challenges, we should all be on the recruitment committee to decide on signings

I dont think that would work to well, many on the forum wanted the club to throw 1m-1.3 m at LM earlier in the year. Some still even want Benji playing again next year

Yeah that was sarcasm. ?

Well well that JAC info backs up what i was already thinking ie he is no chance to come here and all the talk has been his management trying to use us to bump up his price.

Mitchell all over again.

As a winger we barely even need him, start looking elsewhere and spend the cap more wisely.

Heres an idea, a half who can take ownership of our fortunes.

He won’t get fullback money anywhere. We are still a chance at getting him mainly because right now we are one of the few who can afford him

He would want at least 500k.

Id rather spend that elsewhere and run with our current outside backs and rookies.

We need origin level talent and at the moment there’s no other top level players on the market we should takr what we can get. He’ll improve our team

No denying he is talented but a winger isnt going to fix us.

We need fixing and we need all the money we can find under the cap to address the problem areas.

Signing JAC is counter productive.

If we sign him we will run around with Brooks and Benji again in 2021.

Im out at that point.

I agree that he won’t fix our problems but what halves are available? Not many good ones. Think the club wants Reynolds gone before spending on a half as well. May as well get the origin level winger while we can

Thatd be like buying ice cream with half of your weekly budget before buying the milk and bread.

So we should just wait around to sign a good half before doing anything else? There’s no good halves available right now and we have a stack of money freed up in 2022. You have to improve your team wherever you can and we aren’t in the position to be greedy. It sounds like they want to move Doueihi to the halves anyway

100% Winger. But if an inferior winger in Gagai is getting 700K then JAC's management will want at least that.

How did you get this info Jonesy? Do you have a direct line to WT Recruitment HQ?

I have been emailing Justin for a few years now about things and he always replies back to me and all the info he has given me over the time has ended correctly. So for me I will trust him until proven differently.
I just thought I would share as the forum is going nuts over JAC and about paying overs etc..

Are you involved in the game at all/know Justin personally?

Not doubting your info, but find it strange our CEO is handing over these details via email to someone, I presume, he doesn't know?

Justin is quite open in his dealings with supporters, I have found him to be very approachable.

I see that - but what I'm getting at is; is that professional?

Just strange that a CEO is outputting info to randoms outside of the club. I know in this case its nothing ground-breaking but still, keep those negotiations in-house.

Looks like a team that has won 4 games all year have confidence in their Coach to extend him till 2024..

Only in Rugby League..

Good Luck Titans

5 Coaches sacked in 2020...win 4 games extension..

Agree with this completely.....if a winger doesn't get a good hit up off a kick return, or do some dirty hit ups through the game then the forwards have that extra work to do....good wingers are crucial

Every coach needs to be given time to set their own culture and spin on the club to many are in and out in 2 or less years. Never going to get sustainable change in that time

I totally agree purpose of the spine they may be the next most important possie.

They are responsible for a hell of alot now. Early set returns, diffusing opps best attacking plays. Taking pressure of the middle. A larger role then lets say a centre

Wingers are people who hang around footballers.

Bulldogs sign Blake Green on 1 year deal https://twitter.com/MCarayannis/status/1298492235395133441?s=19

Addo-Carr is worth $600k despite being a winger. he's a proven game breaker and a player that success seems to happen around. a left edge of Luciano, Talau and JAC would be something to behold.

Johns valued Foran between $500 to $600k. We are paying Benji significantly less.
