Penrith appear to do a lot of recruiting in country areas.-burton,is from the bush as is there second rower- the nuggety bloke.- whatever his name is.
Of course this is nothing new- sydney clubs have been doing it forever - madden and mcintrye are both bush boys.
Les boyd, jimmy leis, Ray brown john donnelly and tommy are all success stories- as im sure the balmain side of the merger have had their country recruits in their past.
If wests tigers are considered a damaged brand as far as prospective current nrl recruits are concerned,,country nsw
,queensland are the areas the recruitment team should be scouring.Young, fit and hungry young blokes please.
I would rather see 3 or 4 new faces like mcintyre in the team next year than a rehash of this year.
Gotta try something new.

Madge started to concentrate on young blokes this year so it is already happening the problem is we still have clearys mistakes on lengthy contracts

It's a good plan from Madge....it's the long term benefit of improving our juniors that will have the greatest positive impact.....just gotta trust the process

Nooo not the 76ers mantra lol

The young blokes have mostly looked unexciting to me though. Not like when JAC, Fifita, Tedesco, Etc etc were coming through. Hopefully a few become quality but chances are more will fade away so I wouldn't assume they will all become long term players. We need to sign some experienced rep quality players ready to go 👍 And hope that a couple of our potential lads kick on.

Hopefully a few become quality but chances are more will either become decent but not star NRL players or fade. We need to sign some experienced rep quality players ready to go 👍 And hope that a couple of our potential lads kick on to become winners.

Feels like we are in a bit of a draught of exciting young lads compared to last ten years.

Well it’s hard for the young guys we have signed to show much when there are no games for them to play in.

We do need a couple of rep quality senior guys. The Roosters have been using the strategy for years of signing all the best juniors and topping up with a couple of rep quality players. Not all the young guys come on but if you get 2-3 per year eventually that fills the squad.

You will never get all the young blokes turning out to be world beaters but if you even just get 1 or 2 it is better than buying blokes at the end of their career and there is a far better chance they will be loyal to the club for giving them a chance

Imo Reynolds, Benji and Brooks all have to go.

No use just putting someone new alongside Brooks, we will do ZERO as long as Brooks is one of our playmakers.
We need a new halves pairing

He's here for another 3 years after this, so we either pay him 800k to play reserves like Reynolds or we find a way to get him to play better.

I'm happy with 2018-2019 Brooks. No idea what has happened to him this year.

Take away Packer and our pack is 24 years old and younger. Only Aloisi 83, Twal 63 and LL Cool J 59 have played over 50 NRL games. We have a very young and green pack. Need a sign an experienced hard head prop or two to lead them forward. Most forwards mature in their late 20s. JAC is a must sign. His pace is awesome if you watched yesterday s game.

Jesse Bromwich for me. Has the NZ connection with Madge and a lot of our boys and while he’s older is still putting up great numbers for Melbourne. May not go as good for us but would be a good leader for our pack.

While Packer is in the team I doubt they chase a big money prop though.

A forward leader is desperately needed.

We need a experienced forward but not a has been. we tried that before and ended up with packer and mautilino, look how that ended up. We need a experienced leader in the forwards but not bromwich or tamou defiently past their bests. Would be really happy if we signed welch or asiata.

Welch is staying in Melbourne according to reports. Melbourne normally keep the guys they want to keep so no surprise

Young Camroux the 5/8 signing from Balmain. SG Ball, Tannous.seem like two very likely prospects. Both have decent size and are quick. Two homegrown juniors who with the best guidance. could be. good for WTs.

story in the terecrap says crichton will be forced out of roosters.....

maybe take him next year and pay some of the freight??
